You probably don't remember or conveniently forgot, it doesn't matter, but BD literally manipulated her. The girl was here for a few days defending him after she'd already had a problem with him. The girl claimed BD had changed and that everything would get better.

Many of us here told her that she was being used to defend him on the forum, but she didn't see it or didn't want to see it, something that often happens when someone is manipulated who doesn't want to see it. The thing is, sooner rather than later, she realized that BD is very good at manipulating people.

Finally, the game may not have anything that breaks Patreon's rules, but the developer does. Patreon has policies against deceptive use of the platform, especially if a creator is collecting money without fulfilling their promises. In its Trust and Safety section, Patreon mentions that creators must be transparent and deliver the promised rewards or benefits to their backers. This is especially true if the behavior is repeated over time.

That said, I don't think anything will come of it unless it's reported multiple times.

Also, I'm against affecting the income stream of developers and content creators in general. Yes, I think if Patreon cuts off the money... BD will have to work hard to recover its income level on Subscribestar. The thing is: with the way they're acting, it's highly doubtful that will happen. it's safer to say that WVM would be abandoned at that point.

"barely getting by" the delusion in some of his cultists are insane.

And to compare him with one of the most famous fantasy writer of our time who collabed on the tv series and one of the greatest video games in modern time and probably other stuff I'm not aware of, what has BD accomplished, a couple of hundred renders in 3 years? (Not defending the procrastination of Martin but at least he has something to show for it).

I have no words.

On one hand, someone that just refused to work on his porn game until deadlines were too close for comfort, and obviously missing those ....
On the other hand, someone having a writer's block, caused by both the complex lore of his blockbuster books, and the huge deviations from the also blockbuster TV show adaptation. And yes that still helped during that writer's block spawning one of the best games of the decade.

Yeah it's roughly the same situation and level of quality.

Has he not delivered on what is actually promised on each tier? What most people here seem to be upset about, is the constant update delays and excuses. If he had something like "you get a new game update every x number of months", then yea he would breaking their rules because he is not delivering on what he promised, but that is not the case. So unless you can 100% prove to patreon that he is lying about the reasons why the delays are happening, they will do nothing about it.

And to be clear the criticism for the delays is 100% valid. After a while with so many excuses, even if you try to be super charitable it's still very hard to believe him.

I only became aware of Katie after she was banned and her husband was here defending her. So I can't really say anything about her being manipulated. But even assuming that is true, I still think some of the stuff she said she wanted to do like dox BD, is super unhinged and is something that should not be supported or cheered on.

BD doesn't technically break any of his tier promises, most of which are basically "You'll get the update X days after it's released."

He also posts progress reports and *technically* pauses payments and *technically* releases updates every so often.

So nothing will come from reporting him. Patreon aren't going to launch some deep investigation to figure out how much BD is being dishonest and manipulative. It's not like people didn't mass report ICSTOR and some other devs before either.

Only way things will change with BD is if people unsub entirely until he can prove he has gotten his shit in order and I don't mean instantly resubbing after putting out a 255 render update that should have been out 4 months ago.

It would take an act of god for that to happen though as his cultists are so indoctrinated they'll keep giving him money every month regardless of how many delays and excuses happen that causes "it'll be uploaded tonight" to turn in to a 3 month delay...again...

ok i missed a few chapters. Who is Katie? Am I missing some important lore? Last time I checked this thread was I think 2 updates ago where BD was just like "yeah I didn't like how this scene went so we're gonna skip it and then come back to it later"??? Its been a while for me. Is Katie the person he hired as a mod or something? There was someone we all thought was actually him. I forget what name she had though. So can anyone update on the Katie lore and the current reason why there's no update?
