Wow. That's a bit much, don't you think? I'm certainly no fanboi or cult member, and I totally get the sniping and trashtalk...But despite having limited hopes of ever seeing the game completed, and notwithstanding BD's myriad failings, I happen to really like WVM. Some of us do, ya know. I'd rather it didn't get abandoned completely. As far too many other VNs I was fond of have been. Now then, I'm off to peruse the rest of the rest of the recent posts to amuse myself with the latest batch of excuses.
The game is trash. Like I'm not saying you can't enjoy it but for a lot of people and myself it hasn't been good since before the bowling alley where it turned into a complete fever dream. The best mod any AVN has ever had was the one where the MC dies there and the game ends.
Now if we're talking up to the bowling alley bit. Game's pretty great. Not the best harem game out there but far from the worst. Now every update is just a sick parody of what used to be a decent game.
Personally I still believe the theory that braindead died and now the game's entire development is being run by an ai chatbot controlled by the family members he always used as an excuse to not develop an incest patch.
You realize one of the two guys who made that one hit wonder is dead already, the other is in his eighties? Pretty sure I'm gonna be dead or in my eighties by the time the game is finished, at least at the rate we're going. Assuming BD makes it that long without croaking, though I'm guessing he's a just a bit younger than I am.
You are entitled to your opinion, and I know there's folks that agree with you (hence the mod), but that doesn't change my own opinion. I agree that it perhaps wasn't quite as good after that, but not horrible, either. Assuming you can overlook things like the lazy black censorbox over MC face and crap like that. Either way, I really would like to see the game finished. Also, I thought the fascist censorship BS from Patreon and the banks, plus the added work, was his excuse for not doing an incest patch? He used his family as an excuse at some point?

No. He'd at one point teased that some "evil modder" would likely make a "community" incest patch. Which given how the community doesn't have his exact duf files was clearly a euphemism for himself. Then he walked it back and said he's not comfortable making incest content because his family plays this game.
Personally I'd be much more ashamed if my family knew I was making this game than if they knew I was making an incest game. Then again his family might just be a figment of his imagination along with Dionyx, Morbil and the other one, forgot her name. I still like the dead BrainDead conspiracy theory more, but it's probably one of the two. He's either been replaced by an AI or he's so batshit crazy that he lives in a world inside his head where those people actually exist and he actually had episode 14 completed a year ago. Like ya he's also a grifter, but if he's real then he has to be actually genuinely insane at this point.

Well, i disagree that the Patreon change in it's guidlines was the reason he did not put incest on his game...Why??because MC keeps lip kissing his adoptive mom from the 1st part of the game till the latest update..and most of it is unavoidable...as for Patreon I am not an expert and may be wrong in what i am about to say but i know at least 1-2 games that have it and patreon does not care...
Huh. I missed that bit, apparently. Actually, perhaps not... I suddenly realize I do have a very vague recollection of something like that. There's just so much BS, and it's so deep, that it's kinda hard to keep track of it all. As for the rest of it, there's really no telling. My instinct actually says he's not a deliberate grifter, personally, but he's very clearly not right in the head, and unable to cope with pretty much anything, or manage his issues (or his time). As to whether everyone and everything is a figment of his imagination, a set of hallucinations, a manifestation of some kind of schizoid crap or dissociative identity disorder, or simply a set of lies and obfuscations to excuse his failings, your guess is about as good as mine. Even assuming they are straight-up lies, he may even have started believing his own lies, at this point. At least the ones he can keep track of. The whole "AI replacement" theory seems a bit farfetched, though. Then again, considering some of the "conspiracy theories" that are absolutely real, some of which might otherwise seem even wilder, who the hell knows? Especially this day and age.

Of course not. It would be the same shit regardless of what he does or doesn't do. But the thing is, he's not some multi-billion dollar company with hundreds of employees. Very few games we find on this site have more than one or two devs working on them. And they still need to make a living on top of making the game. Most of these devs have 9-5 jobs. They've got personal lives and problems to deal with.
They don't have to be making these games. They don't have to deliver anything to us. If you don't like how things are working out, stop giving money to their patreon/subscribstar/whatever and move on. Just understand that this entitlement people are feeling is fucking bullshit. Make your own fucking game if you think it's a simple thing to do.
Do I feel disappointment when games take forever to be updated and even longer to be finished? Of course. I'd love nothing more than to continue this story and see where goes. And probably restart it since it looks like the dev is remaking it based on that sudden 10 to 30 day skip. I've played plenty of games that I thoroughly enjoyed only to have the dev just up and vanish without a word. I've seen devs just give up because of the amount of bullshit people threw at them because they didn't like the direction the game went in or because the game wasn't being updated fast enough.
However, these games are passion projects. You are not entitled to this or any other game. Keep that shit in mind.

Defending BD of all devs is a very strange use of one's time. plenty of devs better deserving of it.
But, to your point - of course it wouldn't. BD hasn't stopped lying, breaking promises and missing 98% of the deadlines he himself set since early 2022, of course going 'oopsy I've done it AGAIN' wouldn't stop the comments.
BD has been taking money and providing close to nothing back other than lies for over 3 years now. stop shilling for the guy, he does not deserve it.
If he'd been honest from the get go, he wouldn't have nearly the issues he has now. There will always be haters, that is part of making anything, and many people can't handle that. It doesn't matter what you make... you'll have a small group shitting on it, and that group will get bigger and bigger if you make it... and BD has done that.
As soon as you are taking money for your "passion project", and making promises of content... you owe it to those people, if not on a legal level (since there really isn't a legal tie to bind it) than on a moral level he does. Being pissed said dev lied isn't entitlement.
Most people don't like to hear honesty when it is bad news.... everyone hates a liar. BD dug his own grave, destroyed his own credibility and reputation. Nobody made him do it, and he doesn't deserve you standing up for him.

The story has enormous potential but after the pool party the story starts to get a bit out of control.
His inner circle alone includes eight women. Add to that the entire cheerleading squad, athletic staff, management, communications staff, and nursing staff at WMN, even the janitor. Because MC is straight, otherwise he'd hook up with the entire basketball team. Plus, several students and occasional guests. Performers and clients.
I like that MC interacts with a lot of people; he's kind and helpful, but damn, he has to be everyone's boyfriend and have kids and that potentially has not progressed with Valerie's daughters. Even for me, who likes the harem theme and MC's intentions, this is crazy. He spends more time fucking than playing basketball; he's constantly hooking up with everyone.
This doesn't make sense anymore, I see them looking for excessive twists to keep attention, I'm afraid the project will end up running aground and being abandoned.
It would be time to bring the story to a close but I'm very afraid that if it were done, it would be a hasty disaster with unresolved plot lines.

I read it differently (as I always do). Maybe I just remember it differently. I thought Elizabeth started mad crushing on MC when he dove to save her from an errant (basket) ball. In her mind she decided that they were meant to be together because of their HS status, but she never communicated anything to MC.
