Yeah I was just thinking that BD is clearly operating without any kind of storyboard. From the pacing of 60 hour days to all the 'I know we were supposed to X today but we'll do that next week' moments. Even if we give BD the benefit of the doubt (which I don't), it's abundantly clear he needs some kind of structure. Whether it's writing out the story beats first, or a 'manager' of sorts to get him out of his own way. Without any kind of correction the rework will just suffer the same pitfalls that led to it being necessary in the first place.I think it's also fair to hypothesize that, given his initial output, he was genuinely passionate about the game at one point but, due to a lack of planning, he was unable to continue his story because, quite frankly, it didn't exist
I'm generally against devs remaking their games but, in BD's case, I would actively encourage him to do. Step 1 would be to write his story, beginning-middle-end. Once that's done, start making the game again
