Clever.... So just make polls and an occasional render here and there to keep subs satisfied on patreon. Meanwhile do jack shit regarding progress on episode 14 and remake for another few months. then release a partial update of a few hundred renders before 18 months mark or whatever to keep it from getting the abandoned tag.

the amount of work he´s putting in definitely doesn´t justify to keep this alive. At this point he literally might have several 100 render updates or excuses ready, just to avoid getting the tag. It´s getting really ridiculous how well he is able to dance around all the rules and dates and not suffer any consequences.

And it's a full catch-22. As long as he's still collecting patron dollars, there is no incentive to do better. If his Patreon dried up tomorrow, he probably abandon for good and we never see an update.

Okay, I think I know what's happening
I can speak for experience on this, but it's like putting someone with ADHD in the middle of a room and showing them several tasks that need to be completed. He has original content, character sheets, remaking ideas, existing render additions that he thinks will make it even "that much better", and his infinity harem has gotten to the point where you need four years of Excel experience just to keep track of "Moncree's Many Mothers-to-Be". He then spends the first block of time (could be an entire day) spinning in a circle trying to decide where to start.
He randomly picks something, and then puts in five minutes to an hour into one aspect. Attention slips, and he thinks of something on another task that he wants to get started before he forgets it because he's already forgotten to write his ideas down for seven thousand, six hundred and twelve other "this is an AWESOME idea" moments that faded into nothingness.
Instead of hiring help (or even soliciting volunteers who would gladly assist just to get experience or peeks at the storyline), he finds himself anywhere between a week or two, to a month or three, feeling like he needs to update to evade the "Abandoned" tag once again, and that's where we get this "Here's an update about me not having an update" once again.

I remember when this first came out, you could almost set your watch to BD updates. I know it's crazy but true. I moved and new job etc so didn't play for or think about gaming for a few years. I was so happy when I found this game again.... Only to get maybe 45min worth of play.
I understand things happen, and near the end of my time playing the updates started slowing and reasons why started increasing. Maybe someday my bloodline will see the end to this once Great and Mighty could have been

That's one human way to describe his lifestyle, (and if this is the case all fine but stop doing it and move on in life , just stop dragging other people into it by making endless promises), but I personal lost my hope at the point where those excuses started repeating over and over again. Instead of finding a solution, he just doesn’t care about anything but money.
My take on this is as simple as his endless excuses: "he will throw something at us that creates a lot of new promises he can never fulfill, and the last hardcore stans will stay and keep paying in any way possible just to keep their illusion alive."
