Didn't realize how long it has been since I've played through WVM, quite a bit has happened since last time. Girls are still sexy as every but I am still left wondering if we will ever actually see the MC play some basketball

How's it going everyone? I don't have a ton of news to share but there's a few things to talk about.
Game / Dev related stuff:
- Released the first beta a few days ago and it seemed to go well. I was nervous about releasing something small after 3 months but everyone with a brain seems to have understood the meaning of the betas.
- Android's beta hasn't been released yet due to a number of issues but I think I'll have it fixed for tomorrow.
Renders made this prior week:
New - 82 renders and 2 animations
New (remade) - 70 renders and 1 animation
Week 1 redo - 92 renders and 1 animation
Renders per day - 24.4 (10 days since last mind drop)
Personal related stuff:
- Nothing much to share from my personal life this week. Nothing amazing happened except a normal quiet week.
Upcoming Content:
- Client poll (Oct 19th)(Tiers 1-4)
- Monthly render set poll (Oct 20th)(Tiers 3-4)
- Moon's and Brittany's birthday renders (Oct 22nd)(Tiers 1-4)
- Last month and this month's render set (Oct 27th)(Tiers 2-4)
- First Beta release for other tiers (Oct 21st)(Tier 3) (Oct 23rd)(Tiers 1-2)
- Next Beta? (ETA: Early November)
So yeah, that's pretty much it for this week but I do want to quickly thank you guys for being so awesome these last few months.
I'm at a big turning point in my life and I've had to make a ton of life altering decisions and it's been stressful but you guys have had my back. I love doing what I do and it's a true blessing that you guys have supported me through my worst times.
My life was very, very hectic for a long time and things have really chilled out these last 3 months and I wanted to maximize the potential of the time before my life hits the next big milestone.
My dev style has changed often and drastically from weekly releases to bi-weekly to whenever the hell it's finished... and it's been awesome to see myself grow and my confidence grow to where I don't feel the need to adhere to a strict schedule.
Admittedly I've missed putting out constant smaller updates. It was something I always enjoyed doing and it was good for my workflow. They kept me on track and it was awesome to have that constant interaction with my players.
The main reason I initially stopped was expectations and complaints about having smaller updates. Which even then I knew was stupid because if you don't enjoy smaller updates then just don't play it until the full update is out. It's not rocket science. They don't detract from the game's development in any way. They've always been a good thing.
And after the tragedies that happened last year I let everything get to me and I didn't want to my pour my all into something just to receive a ton of complaints.
But eyy, this time I'm doing it right. They're labeled correctly as betas now and they're released when I want to release them. Sometimes it'll be weekly other times there may not be one in a month.
I've been very up front about my intentions with them and I even include disclaimers. They're not for everyone and they're not an accumulation of all of my work thus far. If you enjoy them, play them. If you don't, don't. You're an adult who is responsible for how you spend your time. And because of me taking these steps to explain the betas, the complaints mean diddly squat to me anymore. I'll just assume you can't read or some shit lmao
So truly, thank you to everyone that has shared kind words to me about these betas. They mean a lot.
So yeah, thank you guys so much. I've been having a ton of fun lately.

Somewhere it was mentioned we could also download only updates if we find the game too large, but I dont see any option on OP for that. Can someone help me in this regard?

Probably obvious to most, but I think that's by far what causes the most contention. Not just that she's in the game, hot, and we can't fuck her. But that combined with all the blatant tension and teasing of it.

I love the game. also to anyone that wants to bitch about the game since you obj have a lot to say why do you put the time and effort into a project since you think you can do better. the odds are that once you see what it actually takes to make even a simple VN you will shut up

I don't know what specifically brought the comment on, so I'm not referring to anything in particular. But there are a lot of things that I love too, but don't feel like they're just beyond any criticism. That being said, I'm talking about respectful, constructive criticism that is just put forth as opinion and feedback. Not sure if you meant it that way or not, but I've never really found the defense of "Well, where's your game, huh?" to be a solid one. I mean maybe if we're talking about the people who saunter in and just shit all over everything, then yeah

Especially when they come from ppl that aren't dev themselves. If the 1-star reviewers think a game is trash and they leave a lengthy shit post. Then I would love them to take the time and effort to try and make one that's better. they would probably never get out of the planning phase or they would release 1 half-ass update and then abandon it a month later. basically, if someone has that much to say about a game then shut up and make your own then. im all for constructive criticism. No matter how many times this mantra is repeated, it's still never going to change the fact that it doesn't address what the root of the big issue is about. If there was no sexual tension or teasing whatsoever between MC and Azel, and it was all completely wholesome and platonic, then yes, you'd still get some "No incest?" comments. Because her, Cedey, and bio-mom are hot, in a porn game, and we can't fuck'em, so some people are going to inevitably say something lol. But it wouldn't be anywhere near to the extent that it is now.
I think a fairly common occurrence goes as thus:
New Player: *sees Azel* "Are we going to fuck her?"
People on here: "No. Patreon counts it as incest, so there won't be any sex with her."
New Player: "Oh, okay." *keeps playing, and sees the repeated teasing and building of sexual tension with her*
New Player: "Hey now wait a minute! What the f--"
People on here: "NO INCEST! What don't you understand about that?!"
I think anyone with even a shred of common sense should be able to see what the real contention is about. And if anyone who's annoyed by how it keeps getting brought up ever expects it to subside, then one of two things has to happen first. 1) Content with Azel gets altered and rewritten. Or 2) An evil modder somehow makes a mod some day. That's it. Just repeating "No incest" over and over is understandably never going to placate the majority of people who keep asking about it. Within the context of what goes on between the characters in this game, "No incest cos Patreon" is as satisfying of an explanation as "Because" would be. And the amount of people on here who scoff and say "Why do they keep asking about it?" baffles me if they really don't understand why, and expect it to ever stop while the game is in its current state.
All of that being said: I really like this game. And very much look forward to seeing how everything in it plays out once it's completed. Now go ahead and proceed with the Facepalms. Ya'll hand'em out like candy around here anyway lol.
