I'm going to avoid passing judgement currently for at least 2 months. If an update is a day or two late, but updates become consistent again, then I'll at least have some hope moving forward. If that's not the case though and they keep dropping the ball, that'll tell me they weren't being sincere and that everything we thought about BD over the last 6 or so months may very well be accurate.

The part about the size of updates got me to chuckle ngl. Specifically that they don't want updates with fewer than 200 renders. I sure AF hope so after all this. Once again the mythical 2000 renders are addressed as "obviously more that has been made already" but we just won't see them. And even this update is way overdue. Also like how they're aware this is not ideal yet they still do it that way.

I'll personally wait for a few updates since I don't wanna replay the whole game again for 300 new renders. We'll see if they manage to release this one as they say before the next Mind Drop.

It's a good thing that BD is doing better though. Hope it's true and he can manage the work life and family life this time. This whole thing still feels as weird as I thought this PR thing would, so no surprise there.

This leads me to believe that the last year he hasnt been doing any work at all and only recently just started working again.
He lied about the 2k renders and is only just started working which is why its only 300 renders an update now

don´t forget.... we were supposed to get 400 last month :D So those got shortened to the 300 we´re promised now. As sad as it is, i don´t trust anything that they are telling us... We just got lied to over and over again.

This man had so many fuck ups I don't think he could get back to his gold days. I know that shit happens and you go through hardships and all but when you start lying about x amount of renders and you going to do this and that but in reality you do nothing and trying to buy time is not going to work for you. You are just going to upset your supporters cause them to leave you.

The biggest issue I've taken away from this is his potential lie about all the renders he's had. Truly, we don't actually know. I'm inclined to believe it was lie, but the fact this PR person doesn't address it properly is what burns me.

It's a rug sweep. I think, personally, if he owns up to the 2000 bit, and 400 in July he might actually gain some respect back with people. Don't sit there and talk through a mouth piece and continue to deny it and not even mention it.

Side note, if I was a patron, and the person i supported stopped having contact with his 3000+ supporters, I'd feel super greasy about that and bounce.

I mean, she specifically says the opposite regarding money.
It's clear that they expect people to be skeptical and instead of the usual 'just hold on' bs, they're telling people to stop paying if they want to. Remember, the supporter/patron is in control of the money. If you're paying for something and you're not happy with it, then pull the plug. I'm not supporting BD but I may consider it if this actually starts to turn around.

I get the skepticism in thinking that the posts are made by someone new as well, though I personally believe it for a number of reasons. I don't really care either way. Communication is better than none, and so far they're holding to the schedule they set. I've done a ton of customer service work and most of this feels like an actual professional trying to help restore someone's reputation.

As for the render count, I don't know. I've seen a few devs post numbers that don't add up. I've been following one that took a year to update and didn't include most of the content that was previewed during the year. They never addressed why either. If I was to guess, in BD's case at least, I would guess that he trashed the work at some point. It's also likely there wasn't anything to begin with, like some have surmised. I think though that he started to have his breakdown or whatever you want to call it midway through the work and just trashed it. I doubt we'll ever know.
