It's not that weird. It reminds meYeah the blackjack implementation is really weird, and has itsYou must be registered to see the links(someone mentioned it is a variant of 21 rather than blackjack, not that I would know the difference lol), but the cards that get drawn are from a shuffled deck, there is no finagling or favoring of the dealer!
Blackjack in XCL USED to be a lot worse, because basically every minigame was blackjack. This is a nostalgic thing for myself because the only "game" I was allowed to play as a kid was this pocket digital dictionary that had a weird implementation of blackjack, and I used it to make games for myself, to decide the fate of scenarios. It had the same weird points system where you would gain and lose points based on how far you went over or under. I was so bad at it, that mainly it was a masochistic mechanic to get my character to lose. But yeah that is why it is in the game haha, it is not meant to be a copy of blackjack itself, just a stupid childhood memory since I wasn't allowed to have real games.
I kind of agree but to be fair the better the pill matches their specific needs the less likely this is to occur. The other thing I find frustrating at times is during the selling mini game when you know the 2 dialogue options you're given are both bad but just have to choose the least worst one. If you've done you're research this doesn't make much sense to me. Most often see it with bulk purchase dialogue.
That said i do want to reiterate I do really enjoy the game.
I agree but sometimes there's no choice. For example just had a secretary one (was tech support, medium ethics) for a booming company with 10 pills and the choices were revitalise the business or bulk cost. That's a no win right there. And there have been others.I kind of agree but to be fair the better the pill matches their specific needs the less likely this is to occur.
Yeah, would be nice to always get 2 normal options and for the whole sale/day 1-3 Joker (depending on Int or charm), that you can use either as 'bullshit' or "upsell". So you can save these joker for bad answer options or gamble a bit.I agree but sometimes there's no choice. This is actually very much how it works in Real Life as well. Every so often you will come across a customer who 'seems' interested and open for suggestions, just to come up with a total turn in arguments and approachability. So these instances you refer to, are pretty much like those from the Real Life. If you have ever worked in some sales function you recognise those after a while if you are good, but more often than not you will prepare wrongly or simply fall into a 'reflex' behaviour and list an argument that simply wont play at all. This added unpredictability is actually good, otherwise you would find the sales process very stale and boring.I agree but sometimes there's no choice. I'm nitpicking to a degree, the sales mini game is one of my favs.
I get your point but as you say " If you have ever worked in some sales function you recognise those after a while if you are good" so in game if you're of a high enough sales level, high enough intelligence and done your research you would recognise it.This is actually very much how it works in Real Life as well.
