Ten minutes in, and dejavu hits hard: the same jank, the same missing quality-of-life features that plague every single one of Mr. Zed's games. This isn't his first rodeo, which makes it even harder to excuse. Does he not get feedback, or just ignore it? Either way, here's mine,
maybe it helps.
Controls
- Still no way to change keybinds. By default, run is CTRL(why??) instead of Shift, and crouch is X instead of CTRL or C. It feels backwards.
- Forget rebinding, you can't even view the controls in-game.
UI Jank
- Button labels look off, sometimes stretched, sometimes tiny. Bad font? Bad scaling? Doesn't matter, it looks sloppy.
- Sliders should let you type in exact values, not just drag.
- Infinite scrollbars everywhere. I noticed this when I opened the Codex to see if controls were listed(they weren't).
- No tooltips for settings like "Walker Mode". What does that even mean?
Character Customization
- You can't tell what hairstyle you're currently using.
- Clicking a new hairstyle instantly equips it. No preview, no way to cancel.
- Rotating your character is a nightmare. Manual rotation is so painfully slow it feels like fighting my mouse.
Shops
- No previews in the clothing or weapon shop. I'm supposed to read a description and just hope it looks good? Really?
Combat UI & Camera
- The combat interface is a hard to read mess. The enemy turn meter(literally the most important part of combat) is black on a black background, making it practically invisible if your brightness is low.
- Camera controls are a chore: zoom is locked to the scroll wheel and moves at a snail's pace. Meanwhile, W and S move the camera up and down instead of zooming. Why?
- There's no "reset camera" button to snap back to default/original view(the position & angle at the start of each fight).
- Moving your mouse in certain menus(combat talents, ero talents) also moves the actual camera, so you exit menus staring at the ceiling or floor even during mid-fight.
Final Thoughts
It's 2025. These aren't nitpicks, they're basic quality-of-life features that most games nailed years ago. And it's not like this is your first project, Mr. Zed. Please, just take a look at games like Koikatsu or literally any Illusion title, their UI and camera systems are smooth, intuitive, and one-handed friendly. Borrow ideas!
I want to enjoy this game, but these small, constant annoyances stack up fast. Fixing them would go a long way toward making this game feel polished instead of half-baked.
These are nitpicks. It's 2025. Yeah, so? First of all; you CAN preview hair, so that's a you problem. No, offcourse not in the tutorial mode, but once you get in zantlaha you can access the mirror there, where you already see full preview of your character. Click on hair option and then you can clearly see all kinds of hair. Hairs are simply numbered. Be sure to have the latest version of the game.
With the clothing shop you are wrong again, because there is literally standing a mannequin out there where the clothes are showed on during browsing. Maybe time for some glasses.
As for the camera; can be changed in the settings.
When it's the enemies turn they glow up and there is also a sound playing even. And that's thing which can be changed in settings. Also, by default brightness isn't low. The background isn't black.
About sliders is clearly the biggest example that you nitpick. Normally you drag sliders. Probably you play a game where you can fill in numbers to change certain features, but that's not everywhere the case. Most games i have there sliders are sliders and you drag them.
There is no infinite scrollbar. Also, why would you keep scrolling down. You notice when you reach bottom.
No idea what you are yapping about button labels, as they look normal. More a faulty setting on your side.
Zoom locked to the scroll wheel is quite normal. That it moves slow is how it should be and not that it suddently goes that it's entirely zoomed in. That W and S result that it goes up and down can be annoying and there is still room for improvement.
Keep in mind it's still a beta product.
The other games from mr zed are more simple. Kinkly fight club is a fighting game, dungeon coup more a walking simulator and solas city heroes is also more fighting, then with a story. This game is actually out of mr zed's comfortzone, so even he is still learning. And comparing with other games is a no go. Mr zed does it according to his way, which is in his right. There is feedback and at least more usefull that what you drop here.
No, you don't want to enjoy this game. You barely even have played it.
