dude, it was updated like 1-2 weeks already, get it from page 1 and play with dlc 2
It's not that: He's probably someone who only follows Steam. He didn't know that 072project whips out their DLCs on their website first then on Steam later on.

Does the second battle with Leo (in the forest behind Centeral) always end in a draw?

Her Yarimon passed out (from the recoil of it's own attack?) while mine still had half of it's life left, but somehow the cutscene is telling me we drew?

It's how that cutscene plays buddy. Just don't pay attention to it.

because this is canon event, you can't change outcome

Where can I find the "new trainer" mentioned by the lake near the church? I already accessed the DLC2 Development Room, and I only used cheat tackle once.

EDIT: It's the developer. Talk to her and select "Cheat Tackle!". She'll initiate a new fight.

Wow, I know I'm bad with left/right reversing; but I didn't think I was that bad. I'm tweaking this a bit; but here's at least most of those fixed and some extra capture info on who to get where.
Does this walkthrough also apply to the latest version of Yarimono now that the 2nd DLC has been released on Steam? If not, then what are some walkthroughs/strategy guides you would recommend? Also, is there any particular reason or reward for not using the cheat tackle? Like some kind of EX h-scene or some other sexual thing? Or can you simply just change the difficulty setting to easy mode, spam cheat tackle and unlock every h-scene without worrying about soft-locking yourself out of some h-content? From my quick skimming it seems to be nothing more than a congratulations from the dev for actually trying rather than cheating.

Do I have to play on normal difficulty if I want to unlock everything? Or can I just play on easy mode and still unlock everything without a care in the world?

I'll do it just for you :)

Which Yarimon are Rorow, Haniiru, Neri-Slug, Hatori and Soil Breaker? I don't think the fan translation that ertdfg313 was using for their guide they created matches the names that 072 Project gave them in the English version.

Well, starting from the bottom, on steam version, if you defeat Leo without cheat tackle, you'll get an achievement (for the hunters, i believe it's a nice reward)

Anyway, I like your guide. I also wanted to share my strategy, but never did...guess I'll do it now

I have a bit of a problem with the vending machines. I only have 7000 yen so I could get 4 attack drinks, 4 guard drinks, but only 2 evasion drinks. Where do I get the extra money? Do i just get 2 attack drinks, 2 guard drinks then spend the rest on evasion drinks?

Skip the Atk boosting one, i recommend 8x evasion Drink and at least 5 Defense drinks.
After capping your def and evasion, apply a DoT on them which deals fixed % dmg.

I did it multiple times, done it for all playthroughs with 0 failures so far.

View attachment 4926794

View attachment 4926822 Was able to do it multiple times in a row without cheat tackle very easily with Solobi, it's freshly caught and then lvled to 12, so didn't need to overgrind and still very consistent.

Farm some gold from mushrooms, buy 8x evasion, 1x accuracy and 5+ defense boosters from the vending machine.
Setup all 8x evasion and keep boosting defense till it's maxed (Leo's first two mon can lower your defense, so you need more than 4).
Optionally boost accuracy to make the 90% DoT skill 100%.
Solobi can survive 1 hit and land a DoT on Leo'slvl 37 mon
Then just spam the healing item if you get hit until you win

Thanks! I have a couple more questions for you.

1. Is 7000 yen enough to get 8x evasion drink and 5 defense drink?
2. Is there any other overpowered early game mons you'd recommend I catch for future battles?
3. What does "DoT" stand for in this case? Is it the fourth move Solobi can learn?

EDIT 1: I also took the liberty of overleveling to level 13 by defeating the ranger to give myself whatever advantage I could. I know know what DoT means, so I'll use Solobi's Pyrokinesis skill for that. Plus the 7000 yen was enough to get all 8 evasion drinks, all 5 defense drinks and that one accuracy drink. I would still like some recommendations for mons to capture for my early game, mid game and end game parties.

EDIT 2: It worked! Thank you so much for your help!

EDIT 3: I'm at level 18 and lost to the feralyarimon in front of Central Building. Are there anymore level 18 or below trainers who I can more easily defeat to level up? If not, then who do I fight to level up? Are there any other methods of getting stronger?

EDIT 4: Found a level up mushroom that put me on Level 19, is there a way to farm mushrooms or buy them?

it doesn't cover any DLC at all. I found this from the JP site that's more like a reference to the content than a "guide".

I also found the yari table and stuff to be useful here.

There may be better guides, but I didn't know how to find them.

I got the attack soda just to speed up thing a bit, but as Tricky said, it's not necessary. Anyway, if you ever need more money, you can enter and exit the map to try and spawn mushrooms. Red ones give you 1k, yellow ones 5k and blue ones 10k iirc.
Just leave Road of Beginning (doesn't matter if you go to Village or Old Road), re-enter, check the "side paths" for mushrooms (there're 2, one is near the Village exit, on the left side with the female ranger and the other one is on the right side between the first dude you battle and the miniskirt girl iirc, anyway it's the grass patch where you can find panteeny and squirretic).
Works for every map, you just need to refresh the map

I believe there are 10 level up mushrooms in total, one for most maps, just need to explore a bit.
Anyway, that fight with Howlabout is not important. Whether you win or lose, the only thing that changes is one line in Athena's dialogue. But, if you really want to win, I remember I reached that point at the same level 26, by defeating every trainer but the tanned girl in the lower left corner of Big City, the star trainer and the normal type gym leader, meaning, after Leo, I cleared most of Big City, the two trainer in Central Road and the 2 farmers in the farm/ranch that you reach by going right as soon as you enter Central Road. (Plus 2-3 mushrooms iirc)

I could try to write a simple walkthrough for Cheat Tackleless runs (Keeping Ex Atk count at the minimum of 1)

First, there are a bunch of mushrooms that increases your max lvl.

1. Left of Road of Beginning (A ranger warns you about high lvl Yarimons there, but you can just flee from battle with 100% success rate)

(After the Leo Fight, you should be lvl 13 if you fought all the low lvl trainers in Road of Beginning + that mushroom)

2. Go Up from Big City to City Road and keep going up and move behind the building, there is a path that leads to a mushroom:

3. Move up to the next screeen to Central Road, then all the way to the right, there is a hidden mushroom behind the trees past the grass area:
1750603372916.png

4. Go all the way back to Big City and this time, we move left to Beach Road, then we move up to Holy Road, then go through the hidden broken fence behind the church and follow the legendary green mon:
In there, there is a Mushroom in plain sight.
1750603509749.png

5. Go back to Beach Road and this time, we move through the beach and to the right and enter Harbor Town. Below there is a grassfield with a Mushroom
1750603754981.png

6. Still in Harbor town, we move to the left and go through the Bridge and follow the black and yellow yarimon into the cave, there is a mushroom in plain sight. 1750603812095.png
That's all the Mushrooms before the fight at Central, this puts your cap at lvl 18.
You can start fighting all the lowest lvl Yarimans to steadily increase your lvl up to 50+
