And coming back to the same town...with the same company...why would her father now assume she has no interest in the MC given she was sooooooo worried about him originally? So from this, we can logically deduce one of two things:

1. She full of shit.
2. Her father is not some triad boss who fucks up all men interested in his daughters.
There's a reason I call Kim's dad "Evil Samsung dad." She makes him sound like he's Triad/Yakuza (I'm not sure what the equivalent will be in Korea) and has all kinds of reach.

If you're scared for your partner's life, and run back home to keep them safe, you do not return to them years later if you haven't done anything to remove the threat. There's either more to it or bad storytelling, and I do not think Chaq is a bad storyteller.

It's definitely left me really thinking, when I did Kim's playthrough. There's a lot of questions.

Either:
  1. this is some really weird, intricate, and elaborate hoax/lie by Kim. The only question is why? And then why return years later? I haven't, as of yet, seen any hints or foreshadowing in her story that that's the case. ; or
  2. There is something real in her fear of her father.
Option 2 is far less convoluted and complex. Option 1 has way too many places for something in a fabricated story to go wrong. It just doesn't make sense that she'd organize this huge lie, just to leave or get away from the MC, and then come back, on purpose or inadvertently, years later.

It's just my mind, but my headcanon is that Kim was able to keep MC out of her father's notice while they were dating. He somehow caught wind of it, and that's when the threats from the father started. You can kind of see where her personality starts to change in the story, going from looking/acting happy, to much more reserved and pulled back as she's getting ready to leave.

If I remember correctly, didn't Kim's retelling say that she wasn't coming back for the MC. I thought she said she took any posting outside Korea and away from her father. She only realized it once it was closer to actually leaving where it was. I could be misremembering this as I haven't done her playthrough in a long while.

I'll have to do her playthrough now, just to confirm I'm remembering it all correctly. As all of this could be completely wrong in my mind...

I believe you are right here but can you trust her? Granted, I don't think she could do enough prep to discover the MC happens to work for the same company. It's not like I can pull up a roster of everyone that works for a company unless it's smaller in scope. Plus, the MC got moved to that supervisor position as a way of plot/fate.

Still, fuck Kim. Actually, don't. Fuck anyone else and leave Kim to her own devices. There are too many other amazing women in this to get caught up in plots with Evil Samsung Dad. Hell, if you're into Kims, there is Kimberley. It's like Chaq knew some of us would resent Kim and provided an out.

I just started playing. I've seen where y'all say Kim comes back. So. My question is. Does she come back with a kid under her arm? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks. LoL

I don't disagree. She's not my favorite character... I'll be curious to see how CHAQ tells the story though. With the number of loose threads and open questions there could be something masterful or a large letdown coming.

I'm particularly not a fan of her new look when she does come back. That's my biggest reason to walk away from her; I did like her look in the prologue. And her much more open and friendly personality. Now she's so reserved and quiet. If you do follow her path you can see parts of it peeking out again though... so I'm reservedly cautious about her character.

As for Kimmy, she's up on my favorite list. My biggest complaint is I really do NOT like the star tattoos. The rest are fine, but I find the two stars way too distracting.

While I don't know what the hell y'all are talking about exactly (as I said, I just started playing), I would like to chime in.

If she is shy, or reserved, and quiet now. You have to take into consideration she's been living in Korea for over a year. Women there are more reserved and quiet there. From all I've seen of their country. They don't go wild like American women do. So I can understand that being her personality now.

She was an exchange student at school on the first trip out, no? It's possible she opened up over time being out-of-country, the game never really shows that. She attributes a lot of her problems to the control of her father. If you believe her story, that's probably why. He seems very traditional and strict.

If like others here, you think she's just lying about it all, then I'm not sure of why the change. And there'd be no reason for her to return as she got away from the MC... so why come back at all? She's certainly not gloating to the MC about it.

I caught as much when she started to mention her father. I put two and two together and figured he was pulling the strings to bring her back. Plus, they kind of point out that she was demure when she first came to school and the MC met her. It isn't surprising if she had to revert back to that being back under her fathers thumb. Plus being in a place where women are more seen as second-rate.
I probably won't pursue anything with her after she comes back because I feel the MC is starting something new and needs to branch out. But it is good to know this stuff.

SO. Keyla and her old man were fighting already. Sorry, not good with names. (Hers is on screen right now. LoL)
Does this mean she can be a LI later on in the game? Kind of like her look is why I ask. Thanks!
