I asked about this whole Kayla Zeke situation on the dev's Discord. He answered something I was most curious about, Zeke didn't know about them before and still doesn't.

This is devastating - both to Keyla who got ”HUSTLED” into a marriage so that Zeke could feel good,
but also to MC who is shown, we have the renders on this very page abouve, literally giving Keyla time to
”fix things” - she said. Why did she never end it with Zeke then and there? Why did she not pledge herself to MC?

Well .. now we know Zeke is the exact same as Kim - so much of a ”Best Friend” as she was a ”Girlfriend” to MC,
but they NEVER BOTHERED TO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT HOW MC WAS FEELING ABOUT THEM AND OTHER PEOPLE.

MC is left in the dark about they ”other people” - how is MC supposed to know what was going on between Key and Zek
if Key was seeing him and SHE DID BREAK IT OFF MULTIPLE TIMES WTH ZEKE!

So .. Key did FIX THING BY BREAKING UP WITH zEKE - BUT NEVER MANAGED TO CONFESS HER LOVE TO MC.

Zeke kept his break ups and his marriage proposal a secret to MC, because why not, right?
MC kept his secret love for Key also - tit for that, there it is, Zeke got what he deserved, that asshole!

If Keyla and Zeke met in HS holidays, they were only together for weeks or a few months max. Huge red flag for Keyla actually. I mean, it's kinda fucked up but there are not a lot of stakes in a fresh relationship. She could have easily got together with MC even if they had to explain to Zeke.

She did get back with MC and she even broke up with Zeke MULTIPLE TIMES.

Zeke never told MC about his break ups, MC never picked up Key inbetween them.
MC did the right thing - just be there and let them sort it out:
Keyla tells MC point blank she will fix things.
But Mc never told Zeke he has been pining for Keyla HIS WHOLE LIFE,
the fact he is hurt so much and cannot hold a relationship with anmybody,
because his beloved is not fixing things, his best friend does not care he is dead inside,
possibly close to suicide by them on and off right in his face,
all because they both, Zeke and Key keep lying to MC all the time.

MC never was serious with anyone while Zeke was ”hustling” Keyla for commitment,
he even hustled her into marriage - stickign a knife in MC and killing him inside for good.

idk to me I don't see Zeke getting with Keyla and marrying her as betraying the MC at least yet unless there is something I forgot and need to replay the game. Simply because I don't recall Zeke ever knowing how much the MC like Keyla. Sure according to the dev post Zeke suspected something with all the flirting but unless he knew how serious they were in the past I don't know If I could call it a betrayal either. So while I do think Zeke is horrible for cheating on Keyla i'm also withholding judgement if Zeke did betray the MC and is a bad friend towards the the MC or not until more is revealed.

It's been a while since I played this, but I don't think the game ever explicitly states that Zeke was aware of Kayla and MC's past relationship. At most, all he knew was that they were childhood friends.

In any case, the dev has done an excellent job of crapping over all the characters:

Kim: Oh my daddy will beat you, so I ran away!

MC: I'm gonna screw my ex, when she is in a relationship with my friend.

Kayla: I'm gonna screw my ex, while not permanently breaking things off with this guy I'm dating. (then later) I'm gonna keep quiet about Kim leaving (was she hoping to have a chance once Kim left?)

Zeke: Lemme date some girl in secret, instead of first breaking things off with Kayla.

Basically, they all deserve each other.

Then we have all the weird coincidences: Zeke dating this girl in another city, who just happens to be MC's ex, Michelle turns out to be the reclusive sister of MC's ex. Thankfully, it hasn't quite reached the level of surrealism seen in Intertwined and Niichan's work.

This has to be the case because MC is horrified of being abbandoned, because it is what has happened to him
his entire childhood: Keyla suddenly up and gone when family moved, some other girl also up and moved,
Kim suddenly up and moved - this is a serious character flaw for MC - these girls never really commit to MC.

You have to be real here - what kind of a friend is Zeke if their so called best firend relationship
never includes what kills MC inside, neither tha fact that MC has BEEN totally FALLEN FOR kEYLA HIS ENTIRE LIFE,
the fact Zeke is so shallow in his relationship while Keyla DID BREAK IT OFF WITH ZEKE MULTIPLE TIMED AS SHE
WOULD AFTER PROMISSING TO FIX THIS SITUATION TO MC - this is a case where a lot of players keep seeing MC
as this CUCK WHO CANNOT HOLD A RELATIONSHIP so they can support Zeke,
BUT ZEKE CANNOT EITHER as Keyla has been breaking it off with him a lot,
he be hustling Keyla, HIS EX MANY TIMES OVER, into marrying him SO HE WOULD ”UP YOURS” TO MC IN A GRAND WAY - while he likes the cheater lifestyle so much,
that is a tragedy here.

Zeke is not telepathic. Nobody is. If MC refused to ever truly talk about Kayla, that's on him, not Zeke. You'd be surprised at the kind of things that so-called 'best friends' choose to keep from each other.

Kayla broke things off multiple times, but then got back together multiple times too - hence my emphasis on 'not permanently'. It's not like Z forced her into it, or blackmailed her (at least as far as we know). She chose to be weak and indecisive, she chose (just like the MC) not to come clean to Z about who she really likes. Again, that's on her, not on Z.

During any of those 'breaks' that happened, Kayla could have talked to MC, and the two could have made it official. They didn't do so.

Do I like Z? Nope, he's an annoying idiot who injured the MC, a needy fool constantly pursuing women who aren't that interested in him, and a cheater who can't even walk away properly from a failed relationship. But he didn't 'up' anybody 'in a grand way', nor did he cuck anyone - that can all be blamed squarely on both Kayla and MC. Apparently, neither of the duffer duo heard of the old adage - play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

They deserve eachother in so many ways - but dev did state that ZEKE BEGGED KEYLA TO GET BACK TO HIM,
call it hustle, call it whatever you want - Keyla accepted his hustle of a relationship,
after her successful attempts to brEak it off with him - Zeke kept going after Keyla with his hustle.

- there are tons of such cheaters, divorcees, or husbands who BEG GIRLS TO GET BACK TO THEM
AND THEN BEAT THEM UP TILL THEY ARE BROKEN BEYOND BELIEF.

It's not like Z forced her into it, or blackmailed her

wE SHOULD BE REAL ABOUT WHAT DID HAPPEN - ZEKE KEPT PRESSURING kEYLA, NOT OUT OF LOVE,
MC LET HER CHOOSE OUT OF LOVE, WHILE ZEKE HUSTLED HER INTO MARRIAGE, SO HE COULD THEN
CONTINUE CHEATING ON HER LIKE IT WAS NOTHING.

This is interesting because I think in last update he hinted he knew that Kayla never really forgot the MC. Unless he was referring to Kim, but the timing of that replay from Zeke made me think Kayla.

yeah I cant wait for the rework as I read the dev is going to rework the lewd scenes so they actually feel more intimate that was one of my biggest issues with the game.
