is there like a document that explains how to install skins?

You can find a crude one in most on my skin files labeled "How to Install"
I also attached one here for an Amy skin.

U can do it manually
C:\Users\[your system username]\AppData\Roaming\yiffalicious\custom\textures and replace texutres with the name _MainTex

all you do is get the skin you type %appdata% on your file browser to go to your appdata then roming then yiffalicious then custom then texture and name the images of skins and put them in the folder for character and part it replaces number folder for example 0 will be the skin when at far left for slider in game and boom

for sound mod just get sounds extract the file labled resource.asset and change the audio files with ones you want to change them with but when replacing make sure your audio are same name as one you replacing with then remake the resouce.asset file and boom

hmm... the only solution I think is to delete the Yiffalicious folder (not the data folder!)
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\yiffalicious <-- this one!
Please make sure you delete all saved data from the engine! A new folder will be created when you start the engine again!

I don't believe I know how to delete the folder you are talking about. Do I need to put the engine in the same folder with the game folder?

hmm...Yiffalicious has two exe. (With VR and not VR) so it should be in: ( the red deleted folder does not belong to it!)

See here you have 2 options manually or customize the folder for the skin manager and change 1 and 2, option is quite confusing.
