So this game is implementing cooking now? That implies that you'll have to grind for money to purchase ingredients to grind your cooking skill for better energy gains so you can have the privilege to grind for the actual content, all the while grinding for more money to have an adequate amount of ingredients for said grinding. Please tell me this isn't the case, version 1 was already an unbridled grindfest without the cheats and they're making it worse?
mebbe?

I always play these grind games with Twinehack, and I just add a bunch of money and alter the corruption and such in this

that way you get to skip the grind for the grind for the grind

and then hope RNG gives you the scene you're aiming for :V

tbf it's also fairly easy to alter the RNG if you pop open the hood of the HTML so to speak

Oh jeez, I mean granted it's not hard to pop the hood and just alter the coding. You can even just add links to the passages to the events you want by just inputting into the default room passage [[insert passage name here]]. Hell, there's websites dedicated to altering save files that work real well, like saveeditonline. But that's not what people are looking for in a game. They're looking for an experience, a way to feel immersed into the role that they're playing to get better enjoyment. Where games like GGGB succeed is that your choices define your available choices, the role you've played thus far is what defines your available choices. In YM, it's mostly your available choices are based on how many times you've watched TV with mom and dad.

But if this was a freeware game just released as a "enjoy or not, I don't care cause I made this for fun and it's done," that'd be fine. I'd be like "Okay sure, its the author's vision. It's not my place to question it." Hell, if this was a finished game available for purchase, it'd be a gripe for sure but it'd be fine. But this is an in-development game where I'm sure that nobody is praising the grind, the option to change it has always been there but never more than now when you're recycling remaking the entire game. When I heard that they were remaking the game, I was hopeful that now that they have a better understanding of constructing a game that they'd decided to rebuild it from the ground up so it has a more satisfying gameplay loop. Not rebuilding it to just streamline the current one and add more grind. Why bother rebuilding a house, if you're using the same blueprints?

Twinehack is actually an in-browser plug-in, so it's just a one time opening, using the search to pop in "corruption", and then alter money/what other stuff you want-personally I just max all the player stats-and it's done.

Which ties into this bit actually:

It's not awesome, but this is indeed the standard for HTML games-ones using RL porn especially so.

I don't mean "poor quality game" being the expected standard(although that is also true :V ), but these Lifesim-esque games the grind is expected.

It's just part of the genre. I mean most anyone who actually plays hates the grind and so new ways to skip it keep being found by players, ala me popping the case open to set the Dad-kitchen encounter to fire 100% of the time since the RNG was not generous.

But yeah, comes with the style. I mean it could be streamlined to not be torturous but well....WiP HTML games using an and a tailor-made , for free on a Warez site for porn games

It's not super great, but neither are most of the WiP games *ba dum tss*

Blame Russia.

....er because the WiP games this all took off from and which had the ridiculous grind were half translated games from the Russian community, which were actually made on a largely , not because of...other...stuff.

tl;dr: this is what we've got and this one-once the actual content actually gets tossed back in- is in like the 85th percentile

Twinehack is neat, wasn't aware of it so thanks! But if anything, it just furthers my point that a game is supposed to be fun. I feel no sense of accomplishment from inputting my desired corruption level into something that doesn't ship with the game. RL Porn certainly has its fair share of bad porn games given that it's easy to right-click and hit "Save Image As...", but that doesn't prevent them from receiving the same judgement you would give a game with all custom assets. For example, even though I'm not wild about it, A Spell For All is a game with an obvious amount of love in it. Casting Director is a simple but wonderful game. They both feature grind, but it isn't really something you're worried about because it's fun. The grind is integrated into the game to a point where it just feels like playing, much like grinding for runes in Elden Ring.

Like I said, WIP means it's still possible to change so makes it worse that it's this way. It's no secret this game has too much grind, so why not change that?
Blame Russia.

The WiP sandox-esque games certainly did not start with QSP games. From ADRIFT, RAGS, TADS, and Inform, they've all featured sandboxes with a fair amount of grind and others with a massive amount of grind. Games like ETO aren't the reason for all this, rather the next logical(?) step for developing sandbox games. It's been an ongoing evolution, but not necessarily a good one. (Also, a lot of the QSP games didn't really have grind rather than just too much actual real-life in their lifesim :KEK:)

I'm confused. I'm pretty sure I played this a year or more ago and it had wayyyy more content. What happened to it? Did the original creator abandon the project or something? if not? Why break the game down and apart? Legit questions not trying to be an a$$ i'm no coder. could be way easier just to restart rather then redo the original frame work for all I know

He decided to "rebuild" the game. He said that he would add all the scenes from the old game, but it's a slow process.

Young Maria v2.2.4.0! A bunch of fixes and I wanna go home

Download |

Changed links for YM v2 and old YM! You can find links to new and old versions in the game

Hey, people! I just got to the dorm from the university and I have bad news. I need to deal with two more subjects and it will take the entire next week. Sooo... Just let me publish this update and go dig into studying, okay? I want to finish this as fast as possible. I miss my cats back at home.

UPD 2.2.4.0!
Changes:

- Fixed the brother sex scene in the bathroom (it wasn't appearing).
- Fixed the Jackie and pig sex scenes. Now HaveASexWidget work every time whenever your grandfather saw you or not.
- Fixed cooking picture (Cooking and Cooking with mom passages) and grocery store picture.
- Removed lipstick from the game. Lips size and color were useless and they were removed, too, at least for now.
- Created an Apply makeup passage that is included in every passage where you can apply a makeup (Dressing table and Bathroom mirror). It shows your current makeup type and how many makeup kits you have.
- Added Dressing table to the bedroom. There you can comb your hair, see Expanded character info, apply makeup and watch beauty tutorials. Each view will add 1 Beauty point.
- Changed the Expanded character info passage a bit.
- Fixed the Makeup kit variable. Added it to the Inventory class, now everything works smoothly and you can buy and use this item as it was intended.
- Added a small scene to the Library. There's a 20% chance to run into a couple behind bookshelf. Peek on them to see 3 new gifs of a boy fingering a girl. This scene will add 1 Corruption point, but no Reputation points (because they don't see you).
- Changed the list of scenes in game. It became slightly different to you and it is much easier for me to add scenes there now.
- Added 10 farm scenes from Old YM to the scenes list.
- Changed farm scenes a bit. Changed the style of requirements and requirements themselves (just in a few scenes).
- Added ability to talk to a bartender at the bar. Took this passage from Old YM and rebuilt it a bit.
- Created AddIntoxication widget that will show how much intoxication you get from a drink when you digest it. Moreover, it is much easier to use this widget in comparison with the old construction.
- Added a dialog window that will appear only once when a new version of the game is available (including hotfixes).

Well, see you soon, I hope:) These weeks were hard, but I'm happy that I managed to make this update a big one. Let's hope I'll deal with exams quickly~~

This game is so grindy, it's boring AF my dude
If you think it's grindy you should visit my university. Talking seriously, this game is not filled up with scenes yet. It's WIP, really.

He decided to "rebuild" the game. He said that he would add all the scenes from the old game, but it's a slow process.
Well, not all scenes, but some of them:) And a lot of characters like Cristy, John, Jerry and others need to be rebuilded, so... It's a long way. But yes, you are right

SugarCube.State.active.variables.

Once you put that last '.' It then starts showing a list of available variables.

Edit: A very common command example for twine games would be

SugarCube.State.active.variables.money + 500000

This command would add $500,000 currency to whatever you already have in said twine game. You can also use = instead of +, or -
If you just type in the command, but no change (SugarCube.State.active.variables.money) Just below the line you put in, it should show you what you have, which can be useful for finding what you're looking for in some games where the command you're looking for isn't completely obvious.
This guy explains much better than my teacher. There are some better ways, but yeah, you are right.
After three years I'm no longer angry at cheaters. Is this good or bad thing?

Heh, before I knew about the Twine console, I would boot up notepad++, go into the game files, and boost various things.

This job gives $5? Now it gives $500. This costs 50,000? Now it costs $1. Stuff like that, console is faster, but editing the html can do some crazy things when it comes to unbalancing the game.
