It's like a rape fetish. If you like getting raped, you're not *really* being raped. But you may find the rape genre pretty good. And canonically rape-play in a narrative won't be as enjoyable as actual rape within the context of the narrative. Even though you can't be raped, you still prefer rape porn over consensual-nonconsent.
It is similar. I can't really seek being cheated on because by its nature trying to set it up makes it not cheating. But I still prefer cheating in a narrative over cuckoldry. There are a lot of differences in the vibes, atmosphere, drama, and taboo.

well rape only requires the absence of consent. you could get off to the fact that you didn't give permission, but i get what you're saying
that's where fetish and fiction don't quite intersect
