There seems to be a specific scene with Swansong according to the last panel in the gallery. How do you get it? I've interacted with her at the bar and then once again at the dance floor but it didn't unlock.

Overall an interesting game, could use a name changer, but well, nothing what you can't edit yourself.
As for the LI's...yeah not my case, for pretty much any of these so far...well at least Alice and Selena seem to be on the decent side...kinda, not too crazy or sluts.
Hope we get a chance to kill Marie, she pisses me off everytime i see her.

Will the MC actually get more powerful ?
While he seems knowledgeable, he got his ass handed to pretty much everyone.

Haven't really played this yet, just enough to make sure my name changer worked. lol

Yeah first thing i did was edit the script to change the name.
I just played it for the first time, it's interesting, the LI's are...a bit special thought, imo.
I just added my mod to it. Was too lazy to edit the script. :ROFLMAO: I normally wouldn't touch a game like this because the MC, while not a shrimp, looks like a pretty sissy. Someone we'd be bending over a table. ;) :devilish:

Choose Aphrodite as your god, Swansong has some content with only that god.

I'm not certain if I like this game or not. There are some pros and some cons. Still are the pros more than the cons and I also have a difficulty to stop doing something that I've started. (If you've taken the Devil in the boat, you have to row him ashore, as the saying goes in Sweden!*) :devilish: So, for the moment I'll keep on playing.

*In Swedish, Har man tagit djävulen i båten, får man ro han i land!

I'm a harem guy, well if the number is somewhere between 3-5 (stopped playing some games were the number got ridicilous). This as I have a big difficulty in choosing stuff. So, I understand I'll have a difficulty coming if I play to the (bitter) end. o_O:ROFLMAO:

I was initially intrigued as I like the cited inspiration, however I refuse to play a game where I can't rename the MC, especially when the MC is saddled with a name like "Caleb". The fact that the dev didn't want players to change the name because of "artistic choices" and the mistaken belief that players wouldn't want to identify with the character is even more disappointing. Sometimes we want to be able to play an asshole, identify with the asshole as we make choices, make them more of an asshole, etc. But it seems allowing the player to control the character isn't as important as whatever story the "author" wants to tell. Just make a kinetic novel then and don't pretend there is an illusion of choice. Renders looked good if cliche and using the standard models.

I haven't played it enough to know shit about the game yet. I added in my name change mod and verified that it worked. I'm personally not trying to shit on the dev's 'artistic choices' here, I just want to be able to immerse myself and I can't if I'm playing some dude named 'Caleb'. Not that it's a bad name like 'Max' or 'Billy', it's just a personal preference. At least I'm willing to try the game out.

If it bothers the dev that people are modding the game in some way, well, that's just sad in my opinion.
There is only so much artistry that can be claimed while producing pornography, I'm not saying that pornography can't be art or that some art may not cross the line into pornography, rather that claiming that artistic integrity is why an MC in a porn game can't be renamed is a BS reason. I would like to play a John Constantine inspired character and immerse myself into the world by renaming the MC for myself, yes I am sure there will be players who name their character "Cockknocker69" but those few players will most likely not be interested in a well written and paced visual novel (if that is what this is).

I agree with you that Caleb isn't that terrible of a name compared to Max or Billy, nor is it as uncomfortable for me as the MCs who have the developer's pseudonym for their name (though in all those instances I can recall they were renameable). However, it is a name that I have some memories attached to IRL, couple that will my preference to be able to rename an MC and it is a nonstarter.

Perhaps I will have to DL a mod.

It feels like a bit of both craft and art, to varying degrees in various moments, but that's beside the point. I'm not refusing to implement it in order to preserve the art, I'm doing it to conserve my vision and deliver the experience that I want to deliver. And no, I have nothing against people using mods--more power to you. Once it's out the door, it's no longer in my hands.

I feel like, judging by some of the responses here, people take this design decision as a personal affront, like I am witholding something they are rightfully owed. I assure you, that is not so.

I will try to be firm without being rude. This is my choice and mine alone. I am the designer for this game and I know it best. I know my vision, I know what I want the game to be. I respect your freedom to disagree with this design choice and to mod your preferred name in at your earliest convenience, but I don't like the attempt to pressure me into something that goes against my design intent.

This is one of my favorite shots in the game, and something that would be impossible with a changeable name.

I usually hate using "don't like it, don't play it" as it's incredibly cheap, but I feel it's appropriate this time. Even if you mod the game, shots like the one above will have the original name in them. If the name Caleb evokes such unpleasant feelings, I really think the game isn't for you. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Situation normal. On every thread there are those who demand that the dev makes the game that those doing the demanding don't have the ability to make themselves. I wonder if they even play the games, or just jump on the bandwagon to mess people around for the hell of it? Worse still, try and get the dev to get so fed up they can the game.

Personally, I think you've more than answered that little piece of feedback, and I'm looking forward to following Caleb's story.

Special Render: Memories
Early EAster Holy Days talk of parting the veil off a bombshell: Part the veil
C: Won't people think I look weird?
M: They already do, sweetheart.
Don't worry, you look very handsome in it.

This is one of my favorite shots in the game
Don”t you boggle your pretty lil head over this, bae.

You do realize going deep and straight to the edge of The King In Yellow,
by using actual character names from that story would a been way heavier on MC, right?
Here is one idea: a very personal nickname Maria and Caleb shared together or even their fave character in the king in yellow,
something only MC would know as the whole mystery is his to unravel.

All of this because the whole scenes predicate the assumption, proven true by MC,
that MC actually read/saw/heard the story and remembered the characters names.

But... that's not the special render you're referencing, that's just the patreon description banner. I don't get it...?

The narrative purpose of that scene was different, but something of the sort happened with the constellation part.
