Hmm, I don't recall a game having alternate endings like this that happen at different points in development that aren't just "YOU DIED" endings that just set you to load back or start over.

Kinda weird. But sorta refreshing. However it seems that one of the endings (if you leave and call Chloe), hints at not being an end, or is a real crappy Inception kind of ending.

Thats crazy had a save that is over a year old so memory is hazy, one of the things I do remember though was the awful riddles and minigames so not starting over lol.

After you've read a few, you come to understand that AVNs of the English sort largely follow a set unspoken rules; sort of like the porno terms of engagement. A few ideas to keep in mind as not to frustrate players such as, to mention a couple, not delivering on sex while constantly baiting it, not giving players the option to avoid certain scenes that feature fetishes they feel disgust towards or even not dressing up characters in LI clothing and then unceremoniously tossing them out the airlock. And while living up to these loosely set standards prevents unnecessary drama or endless whining by fans, I've always had a feeling they stifled the narrative potential of these VNs, if only for making them predictable, and that a lot of VNs could really do without.

Then this episode drops and I load the last save I had curiously named "AL" (ice) and a couple hours later all I want is to kick the author in the dick. Obviously something went terribly right in the writing department what with how attached I got to a character to warrant that sort of reaction but I'm not sure that that's the reaction you'd want as a writer in this particular scenario. Because now I have Zero (eh) interest in reading any further. And that alt "Ending" was fucking horrendous. Why, I'm still not sure. But it feels like kicking a baby. Or drowning a puppy.

Alice.............that was so damn sad. Even when you save her in the other ending you don't get to be with her it's pretty much a lose lose situation.

Also, I ain't gonna lie I get the guilt Caleb has but Daniel kinda took the easy way out, it also really pisses me off how badly his bullshit screwed everyone over.

Keira asking to be turned in the end is kinda wild to me, especially if you are in a relationship with her, there is literally no way that doesn't end in tragedy, even if she does get her revenge how does she intend to reconcile her immortality with Caleb aging.

I hope this doesn't mean Alice is completely out of the story tho.

And honestly I can't for the life of me see a method of redemption for Marie that I can accept if she doesn't do a Sacrifice play for caleb in the end.

Maybe Alice will continue on through Hestia somehow. Even in her "good" ending she kind of looked more like Hestia than Alice so maybe we didn't see her true ending yet.

Marie doesn't need redemption if she's telling the truth about also trying to save everyone in her own way. MC and Marie are both flawed. I can kind of see an ending where they together ride into the sunset as a form of sacrifice to save everyone else.

My opinion is that she doesn't need it. It's more fitting if the MC tries to save her despite her being baddie. Considering that they are connected, it's a great challenge for him. And I'm a bit tired of these twists where the villain turns out to be not as bad as they seems.

I would like an ending where they both die and Lilith guides them into their next life.
A perfect ending to their story, imo.

MC is alredy a paramour for a goddess and can even get the stamp of the Endless on top of already being the Emperor, whom Invictus was already trying to be for them. MC is capable to sacrifice for someone he basically just met and who tells MC directly she was the one pulling the strings and not Marie, to ensure things fall the way they did to entrap MC in the precise point he is now: MC refused Marie all the time and it turns out she only wanted to stop Invictus and she told MC and everyone else to go, while she stays to stop the onslaught - while MC basically keeps the Endless book to himself, as he is the only one capable to wield it, he is the essence of Adam - practically his body is of the power to withoul goldy power, the kind of power the endless would pour inside of him if he bacame their champion - the Endless goddess already likes MC to be her Adam and Lilith directly kept MC alive time and time and again just to be near this apparition of her lover.

Marie doesn't need redemption if she's telling the truth about also trying to save everyone in her own way.

My opinion is that she doesn't need it.

Marie got sacrificed to the rival of MC, whom he kept being friends with, even while being told of his constant hate for him and for Marie, she got sacrificed to the Endless - just like MC, yet MC is the one victim blaming and opposing a victim who wanted to remain the one to stop the baddies, she stopped Invictus, she let MC have the Endless manual, she told MC and everyone to simply leave this last bastion of battling dmeons from beyond - yet everyone keeps trying to stop the only person who has even done anything for humanity, while everyone kept opposing her. MC is the Emperor, Lilith tells him this point blank, Marie offers MC the throne .. what could go wrong?

Constantine called Lucifer of his own initiative and accepted his deal, while MC betrays human race and runs from the Emperor throne, basically refusing what Loki did in his series, refused to sacrifice himself for the greater good, but could decide to give his life for Alice, who just admits she lied to Marie and to him to make him get to her, while being unprepared and unknowing of her predicament to actually save her. Why would he refuse to help all of his actual friends for a manipulating untrustworthy new meet? - Marie is the one who accepts the burden of saving humankind; MC is the one refusing it all the time.
