This week I finished a few of the previous sketches. I'm still working on the new story (and haven't forgotten about Lily or Desi).

The only image for this week.

The comment on the Patreon indicates that ZG still isn't sure if he's going to turn this into a full series, so we can at least hope that he goes back to Bio Lab, Lilies, or something more in line with what made us all follow his work in the first place.

I'm glad he's drawing again! And in fairness, Pest Control, Rescue Party, Marine Biology, Lilies, etc. also started off without any real sign of danger to the woman in the first image.

About the New image, I prefer the "old spider" like Pest control because I don't like spiders but in pest control is like a monster.

For all the talk about same face, etc. These actually look a little different than usual ZG artstyle.

Maybe its just how much of the -other- artstyle I've been seeing, but I can't help but wonder if ZG is also using the same tool. This art just looks slightly different.

Thoughts?

I think variance in context is more relevant than facial variation. Characters looks the same, so what? As long as the setting is interesting, I really don't mind.

With his style, tools don't really matter. They would matter if his work aimed for greater realism, where he would have to add more detail. I would guess that the shading or perspective would have the most impact if there are any differences.

The issue with the same face is that his style is not rich in detail. He can change the shape of the nose, eyebrows, and width of the face, but that's basically it. He doesn't have much choice if he has to stick to his style. The rest is changing the colour. Such changes are too small for most people to notice a difference.
