It's been told like thousand times that Patreon has absolutely nothing to do with it. Dude's main site is substar.
He just doesn't want to do bestiality.
While I'm not fan of futa either, far to say it's a fall-off. ZMSFM still does some fantastic monster anims and plot driven works.
To add to that, this animation has nothing to do with his scheduled works. It's apparently something he did for testing his new learned skills.
I'm a bit surprised it was released as it wasn't on his discord schedule. Neither mentioned on subscribestar posts.

I always feel a bit silly complaining about a creator's work that I don't support with money, but I feel this way too. I'm still pretty sad about how some artists that I really like make a change to mostly solo futa or futa on futa, like Tarakanovich. That guy basically got me into drawn smut and I don't like anything he has done for like 6 years.

What I've noticed that these futa works usually aren't one off animations or posters. Seems like whenever he has free time, he makes futa related BG3 works.
Since when Lae'zel was released, there was also this Kagha poster too.

Honestly I'm gonna throw him a month or 2 of sub again. I hate the futa stuff too but he did make enough good stuff the last months to justify it.
I just can't justify staying subbed all the time, as with most Artists.
I really appreciate that you use the term 'PTSD' to describe it. I don't think it is quite as bad as you claim. Also, possibly consider finding futa attractive.
