i didnt get any quests from lucy that will unlock the news reporter, do i need to make another playthrough? is it bugged?

The mod gets updated with every release. Always make sure that the mod matches the game version. At present it works with the PC version of v0.24.1.

It shouldn't cause any issues to your game or save.
