The discussion was about mothers, not fathers. If the discussion had been about fathers, the comments would have been focused there.Kind of a weird thing to fixate on when probably 95% of child abuse is committed by fathers, not mothers. That's not to say that mothers have not done horrific things, but I think the betting lines on which parent is more likely to abuse their kids would lean at least 20:1 money on fathers.
