Based on the post by cebs above, the 0.54 update is for v0.38 to 0.54 and below is basically how to install the full game:

1. Download* & install Bloodlines v0.38 ( Book Two base game )
2. Download* & apply the Book One Patch rev2023.03.14 ( to access Book One contents )
3. Download* & apply Bloodlines v0.54 updates ( to access the latest contents )
4. Optionally apply the Incest patch

As far as I know, the Book One installer linked in the OP is kinda obsolete, you can install it but you can only play Book One contents. I have no idea how to make it work with Book Two, but the method I described above ensure you have a single installation where you can play from the beginning i.e. Book One then continues to Book Two ( current contents ). At least, that is how I understood it.

Hope that helps.

Edit:
*Alternative to the download links in cebs posts, additional links are also posted in the OP.

Is there some sort of way you can create a "unlock all bloodlines up to Version XYZ" so i can click that and have all the bloodlines unlocked already?
It's infuriating to replay bloodlines I already unlocked previously because the system doesn't register them as unlocked
I have to play olivers bloodline to unlock allison but all Olivers says is "the vampires remain unlocked play them to help oliver"

How many people have dropped, or not even started this game, because of the weird download and install setup? Why have the end users have to download multiple files then merge them, when it seems like the dev could instead? It's honestly so weird and off-putting I'm doubting that the game will any competent craftsmanship to it.

Maybe I'll take a nap.

Moniker Smith, the developer can do all that merging everything into a single package ( it is highly recommended to do that ), when the game is completed. For now, this is the closest you can get to the "best" setup for work-in-progress game, of getting an "Update Only" contents. The game is "split" into 3 components for easy contents update:
1. Book Two ( required, base game )
2. Book One Patch ( optional, adding Book One contents, this rarely changes )
3. Updates ( latest contents )

Players that had installed the full game once just need to apply the #3 Updates ( latest contents ) whenever a new update is released, so that they can avoid downloading the same contents they already had downloaded previously. If there are changes to the Book One Patch ( it will be announced, there will be new revision date ), then update it too, otherwise some contents aren't accessible. There are Heavy ( "original" assets ) vs Lite ( compressed assets ) versions, so that players can choose depending on size and bandwidth capacity, which is really nice!

If players just want to try the game first, they can just install the standalone Book One ( which is smaller size ), get a feel of this Kinetic Visual Novel before downloading the whole lot but then finding it not to be their liking.

Anyway, if the installation process is too troublesome, then just wait until the game is completed. Hopefully, Moniker Smith will release an All-In-One installer. If not, still very easy for anyone to package all of it together into a single installation*.

I don't care how many people play this game or not, or how many hesitant to play it because of whatever reasons. solo_player1 was asking about installation issue and I shared what I know and how I installed this game ( previous version, have not update to the latest yet ). There are detailed instructions somewhere on this forums, I just "compressed" them. I am not exactly sure if the instructions are 100% bulletproof and/or the most efficient method btw:KEK: but I shared it anyway, because people will point out if something is wrong and I can take corrective actions:WeSmart:.

Sure, there can be improvements to the process and how the information is organized and made accessible, but not really my problem:KEK:. Feel free to forward your suggestions to the relevant parties.

Edit:
*Kudos to cebs who makes the effort to package all things together so that it is no longer a barrier for any new players. Refer to the post below.

Just to be clear, I wasn't attacking you, you were being helpful to other people in the forum. Ehen I searched I saw a lot of people with the same issue over and over again, so it seemed to be a central issue for a lot of folks. Apologies if I offended.

Thanks for putting together the Ready to Play version! Following this game for a long time now and every time I do an update something breaks. Just installed the 0.54 heavy over my legacy installation that was currently on 0.51 (but originally started out somewhere in the 0.20s) and the Busy Little Bees chapter had no pictures. Updating to 0.51 was also a struggly because I fell out of the compatibility range.
