I truly dislike the direction the game took, compared to the potential it had. But guys, I think the amount of toxicity here is not deserved. Maybe we need to cope with the changes. We have to accept that the game is different now, worse to what it could have been, but it probably matches the skills, time and resources of the developers. If we judge the updates for what they are instead of for what they could have been, if we judge them in a vacuum, I think SU is not doing bat at all.

The amount of content in the game is huge, at the cost of creativity, but even then. And the amount of pics is huge too, at the cost of quality. But with such a huge project, there are always costs associated.

If we don't want, we don't have to play it or support it. I think some criticism is always great. But some people I have observed that only come here to hate on the game, every update. I am not sure if that makes sense or it's healthy behavior.

What I mean is... maybe some of you guys should just move on?

Well, I for one rather enjoyed the SU:Themyscira Ren'Py standalone.

I have nitpicks of course, but Ren'Py has always run more smoothly for me than SU Unity, and it's nice to be able to customize the windowed screen size simply by dragging a corner...

I haven't played SU Unity for over a year, so a lot of the Themyscira content was new to me. The cookie cutter chain scene artwork was annoying, but other than that, yeah there's some new artwork in there that I liked. Donna and Cassie were just teased, I'd like to see them more fully implemented in future versions, assuming we get new updates.

I have a unique appreciation for the amount of work it takes to port SU stuff over to Ren'Py. Others are better at extracting data from Unity than I am, but I for one think that HenshinVolt did a pretty good job porting over the alternating animations from Unity. The build is stable, it's really just a beta in name only, didn't have any issues, well other than the sprite darkening when a character was not talking was a bit excessive, I'll be sharing a mini-mod for that later.

I know that others won't agree, but I'm glad to see a PC/Mac version in Ren'Py, and if this lays the groundwork for other SU Ren'Py builds, I look forward to it.

As for the project that I'm spearheading, SU ReImagined, it's always been about trying new things, and it's coming along slowly but surely. I should have another update to share soon.

It's too bad that SmokeShank has such a bad attitude towards this place, he likes to pretend that this place doesn't help his projects. Sure, it's a buccaneer forum and all, but there ARE a number of people here that support his games after finding them HERE! There are a lot of good eggs on this forum that help each other out, which is why I like this place, occasional trolling aside.

Yeah, this is the first update I'm actually pretty okay with ALL THINGS CONSIDERED. I honestly would be okay with them taking 2-4 months to port the entire game to RenPy or negotiate with you on it or some shit. And I didn't find a single bug personally, which I couldn't say about any update in years by now.

Yeah, it made a real change to play an 'update' from them that's not all bugged to hell!

So is the other SU now the current game and this one is done? I'm confused?
Pretty much.
Nobody believe they can finish Themyscyra in one or two updates.
Of course they probably will start some other event and leave Themyscira at the middle.

According to the changelog, v2.4.4 added the vault section for the gotham event. So, is there any reason I can't see the gotham scenes in the vault? I've seen some of them at the event itself but when I go to the vault, the "event scenes" option isn't even there. Do they unlock once I get all of them or something?

2-4 months to port the game to Ren'py, that's extremely optimistic to put it nicely. Considering the devs have apparently gone through like 4 coders and clearly art better than they code themselves (which is why, I assume, the game is more visual novel than game at this point); 2-4 years is probably more realistic. How far they already are into that 2-4 years, couldn't say...

As for negotiating, I dunno why even bother. Unless it's with DC, I guess.

So now the update is out and to everyone's shock it's not even half of what was alluded to for the past several months. Even more curious, there was 0 communication that it was going to be half-baked for the February completion goal and in fact misleading by stating just a few weeks ago in the dev blog so many outlandish claims for this to be what was released in reality.

...the excitement within our team is high. We've been working tirelessly to wrap up the final touches on the event. I'm thrilled to report that all the artwork is complete, and we're currently finalizing the writing.
As the release draws near, we want to set clear expectations for what's to come. Our upcoming release will deliver a complete story, from beginning to end. While we're still deciding on the specifics of what will be made public, rest assured that it will include the full narrative.
I doubt by the dev blog they were unaware it wasn't going to be finished in totality. Half of the cast didn't have anything added to them and the only characters you can look at and argue are finished is Nubia and Phillipus. Why inform your audience of that right? Surely if all the artwork is complete they can at least put in some missing bits in the upcoming patreon image packs like with Emmylou in the broken Gotham release, no? Comparing for a normal update, 16 new scenes is not bad at all. Typically more than most updates get. For the Ren'py usage I found it to be completely fine. A miniscule hiccup here and there but overall great. Good job, Henshin. But the problem is when you bullshit for 5 months and underdeliver. Excited to see the backpedaling on how not only did they not finish it, they didn't add half of what was on the table. :KEK:

Now that it is here I'll reference my wall of text of what would be reasonably expected to be in the completed update. A simple (y) and (n) to denote if it made it in with a (n) next to their name if nothing was touched at all. To reduce my post pollution I've made it an spoiler image.

Bro got salty because a fan made his game runs better and have zero bugs than his 18K a month of hot mess of a garbage code, to be honest i only see this game having future when DC shut down his patreon and then the widows of it will gather and work on It on their own, in the fanart section we already have artists more creative with the positions than him
