The challenge is getting all the patrons to switch to subscribestar. Especially with patreon being the go-to for most creators' support.If all his patrons moved to Subscribestar, it wouldn't be a problem.

That is one aspect, and Patreon tries to cast a wide net on all content a creator makes. They seem to think that they control everything that is "patreon funded", which extends to everything you make

Could be possible but it is very hard to deal with it. NeonGhosts dev from Friends in Need mentioned that he is thinking about using patreon for another project in the future while focusing efforts only in one game version instead of two. But that won't be feasible now since more than half of his subscribers still come from patreon.

The compromises are understandable and it's probable that patreon granted little leeway. Comply with our ridiculous rules or lose your page, nevertheless it's incredibly frustrating to see it happen and miss out on great content.

Only idiots refuse to compromise with regards to creative works. I compromise every day based on time, ability, resources, rules. Without compromise nothing would get made. Anyone creating anything compromises all the time. Either compromise and create, or sit and "don't budge" and end up with nothing.
