Is it actually better? Or just another Internet being Internet with its "anything fan-made is better"?
"Get your dick out" fan translation becomes "Blow on" on the official.
"Cheer her up" becomes "Pamper".
MC is supposed to literally get his dick out, it's what makes him happy and improves his mood.
Cheer her up is what improves the sister's mood. The localization literally makes the game make less sense.
Make a drink becomes alchemy.
Sexual harassment becomes molest and there's not a single molestation option there.

It genuinely feels to me that it was translated by someone who didn't play the game, like they had some write up of the game for context and just translated it without any actual first hand perspective of what they're translating.
Also if you played the original Imouto Monochrome the fan translation is a lot closer to what you'd be used to.

Have you actually played the game with the official translation or did you just take a look at the menu options?
There is A LOT of text apart from the menus and that is what Kagura did properly. It finally reads like a coherent story instead of word-for-word translated japanese.

While I agree with some of your points ("Blow on" translation decision still baffles me and "Molest" is strange to say the least), others are just nitpicking.
I don't see any issue with pampering my imouto to cheer her up by praising her or giving her some snacks.
Renaming "Make a drink" to Alchemy kinda makes sense since this is a fantasy setting and you make not only drinks, but also stuff like morning after pill.

In the end having the best possible names for couple of menu options does not really substitute for enjoyable reading experience during the rest of the game.

You're talking to someone who grew up in the fansub anime era and who's best friend is a Newfie. The fan translation would scale to about a 1/10 on the broken English scale to me. Nothing about the fan translation is even remotely incoherent to me. I don't even see how the fan translation is even remotely problematic unless maybe the reader really isn't good with English. Beyond that it being less localized just makes it better, it better preserves the original intent of the wordings.

I played about a week of the official release and thought to myself that it's literally just worse than the fan translation and haven't looked back. So no, I haven't played through it properly but I'd like to think I gave it enough of a chance to have an opinion on it.

Fan translation of the game is better for me the Kagura's version is not good for me.
Kagura's translation of the game makes it so that you are Molesting your sister which you are not and it's more or less changed story of the game. Who ever did make an official game translation clearly just saw the sister and in his mind yeah that is a loli or you know what and added the Molest option and clearly didn't play the Jap or the Fan game in the first place he or she just went with what they did though was the story.

If you actually played the game at least 2-3 hours doesn't matter which version was it you should know that you don't make an morning after pill instead you just buy it and slip it in her drink this should be obvious.

Edit*
In Kagura's version for example you have things like when you jerk of you just have cum inside - In the Fan version you have an option cum on her body. This is some fine localization the officials did and from what i know that was like 12 people if i am not mistaken.

Near as I can tell only the names are different, none of the effects look different. Can still use the Title Guide linked in the OP to see how to get them and what they do.
Seethe.

Also, no idea why they decided to change them like that. As if it wasn't confusing already

Why is Peerless still showing when using an old save?

For the linux peeps running this game wanting to use cheat engine, here's the CT file that should work for all arch-based ProtonDB-based runs, not sure if it works the same in other flavours but give it a try and let me know, I can probably fix the file for other OSs and applications.

Someone mentioned FFFox mod in Inusuku's last ci-en post (asking them to include lewd rock-papers-scissors or outdoor sex) and given Inusuku's stance against modding, I think it was a bad move

fffox.png

Inusuku will probably reply to this tomorrow, since all his replies come after making a new ci-en post

is there a way to cure of Onii-chan

that he get from completing 100/100 Adventure?
You can with the FFFox mod but not in the regular gameplay afaik.
Either way getting little sis pregnant ends the game, with high stats you get a happy end, and from what other people have said there's also a bad ending around pregnancy.

hmm years ago I played this game, and probably used FFFox mod, I don't remember lol.
But I remember that back then clearing the 2nd Adventure cures it. Now I tried vanilla steam version and onii-chan doesn't get cured

There are only 2 important Stats in this game: ATK and DEF
These side stats can be neglected until you hit limit of the above stats:
+A rank SKI ( around 250) -> 28% CRT (might crit one every 3 turns or none)
+DET ->BLK, INT -> CNT despite having better percent, won't help you win the game because your ATK is pathetic at this point while the enemies have much higher health pool and heal, attack in a same turn.
+Not to mention DEF can only be trained on daily training but only appear twice or thrice a week. You miss it? You might have to replay your game from the start because enemies might cause tremendous damage in one hit without warning but surely once every battle.
I don't enjoy this game grinding because the combat stat scaling system is bad af (even worse in hard mode)

Crit, blk, and cnt are more relying on skills than stats but in RPGs a 25%+ crit rate is typically considered good. Get the skill that boosts crit rate 50% and now you're sitting on a 78% crit chance. Get the skill that boosts the chance other skills trigger and you'll see at least one of your skills going off every turn.
Not having skills can make or break your run just as much as not having the right stats.

All daily training options are random there's no pattern to them, you can very well get DEF training Mon-Fri. If you save right before the day ends, you can get a new set of options if the option you want don't appear. In JP version, you could just save at the guild and every time you reload the game it'll give you different options but I guess Kagura or Inusuku patched that out as it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Totally agree on the stat grinding though, if the equipment you buy works on every event/training option/reading adventure books it would awesome. You can pretty much just stick to helping out the guild to make money, working part time on Sat and then spend your money on Sun on adventure books and get +4 to each stat every time.

Guys what are the new conditions on getting scenes after missions with your guild mates? I have gotten the "required" ones (i.e their skills) but after that nothing shows up. My sister has not asked me to go home with her either which, to my understanding, is a problem when trying to get these scenes but I have not gotten either.

What am I supposed to do? I am at day 43 so far.

It's all RNG mate. There might be a way to increase the chance but I'm personally not aware of it so it's pretty much just hope it appears. You can save right before picking a guild option and then save scum until one of them appear.

I am your clone, but would question you with raised eyebrows. There isn't a night and day differences, both translations are pretty close, and the writing in general is just bad. Not a surprise there for a pron game. But the Kagura version is less stiff and slightly better, imo.

Your supposed history with fansubs is probably what ruined you, as if you weren't just a kid gobbling it all up, you'd know there is a long problematic history with fansubs. Some of the most famous ones that normalized and even popularized certain sayings/quotes were shoddy work at best, while many just took too many creative liberties.

Professional translators did not often waste their time translating not-yet-popular Japanese culture shows for free. The vast majority of them were complete amateurs that, much like shonen MCs, used friendship, passion, and a whole lot of bullshitting to save the day.

I will admit modern day fan translations are typically far better, but it's exactly because of modern tools and a breadth of information sharing from both official and fan resources, as well as the globalization of everything, that makes it much easier for us to not only know what what they were going for, but also unify it across all translations because everyone is pulling from the same wellspring.

So your history means nothing. Having played both, I think both translations are pretty bad which is mostly due to the game's writing rather than the translation work itself, but saying the fan translation is massively better is funny to me, and funnier still given your telling context.

I haven't had any issues using all three...?
The fix money mod, if installed last, will overwrite and mess up over 90% of the FFFox Mod, since it replaces a key file. If you install it first, then FFFox Mod simply overwrites it, meaning you no longer have the 'money fix patch' on. This is known, and that particular bug will be fixed in my next update.
