Personal theory is that she's basically taunting Orion in order for him to answer her in defiance and pull himself back from death (or be angry enough that he refuses to give in to death), thus showing her that he can "defy fate" (which she could then spin as her testing Orion's resolve). This of course, happens after he spends time in Limbo and comes to realize his fuck-up, thereby also giving him the resolve to do better, especially if his time there also makes him realize what will happen to the girls if they find him dead. Again tho, that's just my personal theory on the matter.
Anger may be an option, but Orion needs to think about himself, as he has his nose in the air too high - to think he thinks he can handle Thanatos. He will have something to do in Limbo, I think we will spend part of 0.8 there.

Strongest characters in Eternum.

Thanatos - Highest level player in Eternum and the wielder of Hyas (The 1st weapon of Atlas).

Calypso - Princess of the Sy-Tel-Quessir and the 3rd weapon of Atlas, the most powerful of them all.

Junkie #1 and Junkie #2.

It does make me wonder what punishment is awaiting to that beanie wearing junkie scum. Perhaps a one-way ticket to Eternum to become an NPC (and suffer), just like what happened to a certain unruly (and wannabe rapist) lapdog way back at the end of v0.1. Or maybe Calypso somehow senses what happened, and she could disintegrate him like that drunkard at the Old West server. :devilish::unsure:

I just threw that as a potential reason for Orion to rise from his predicament but yes, he needs to understand the gravity of the quest/role that Idriel and the dead are asking to do, as well as what he is actually fighting for. Because right now there's still a lot of stuff that Orion (and us players) needs to understand, such as what the Gems of Doom ACTUALLY do (because turning someone into God doesn't sound as definitive as William is making it out to be), why Idriel and the dead chose Orion, how does Orion's powers tie to this mess, and what the Founder's endgame is (because again, William's assessment of the man sounds a bit incomplete IMO and it's possible that there's more to what the Founder wants other than Apotheosis). Maybe Orion learns some of that in 0.8, maybe not (but will prolly be something we learn along the way, I mean we still have a lot of updates to go at least).

Or, if the man doesn't get taken by the police, might end up getting a visit from a certain Ex-President who may have returned to his old Vigilante ways...:devilish:

Why Idriel, who accompanied MC throughout the game, looked at him as a messiah who would free the souls of imprisoned “NPCs”, in the end she became hostile towards him and even mocked him for the fact that he was dying, saying that “your end has come "?
Well...it could be her coaxing Orion into an angry reaction as Dorfnutter said, but it could also be genuine frustration with him. We kinda know by now that Orion is in somewhat of a dimensional or time loop. He has tried to save Eternum, Idriel and the NPCs multiple times and always failed. But since he failed in Eternum, Idriel could "reset" him and he could try again. But since he now died in the "real world", she can't help him there anymore. So essentially of all his runs so far, we haven't played his best attempt, the attempt he will finally achieve his goal and save Eternum, instead we've played - at least so far - his worst attempt, which at this point - from Idriel's point of view - might actually be his last attempt as well, because he died now in the real world and there is no coming back for him (or that might be, what she thinks anyway).

No, we don't. If anything it sounds more like a "Bioshock: Infinite" scenario where Idriel is aware of multiple runs happening simultaneously and has seen all of them end in failure (and yet is still pinning her hopes on our run for reasons that might be explained in the future). The lore dump about Limbo supports this, as a dimension that exists outside of time and space means that the general laws do not apply and you can theoretically see everything everywhere all at once (heh). Not to mention the "heads or tails" question has been presented in Infinite as well, which means we could be dealing with the same scenario (albeit hopefully the outcome is a lot more optimistic compared to that of Infinite's).

We don't know much about the Limbo
We know at the very least that time doesn't exist there (as per Idriel's explanation), which sounds to me like you can basically stay there indefinitely and still return in the real world without time advancing. Hence the reason why some of us are proposing that Orion could stay there for a good while (but not long enough that it would take up half or the entire update).

We've also seen the cliffhangers get resolved very quickly.
0.3 and 0.4 didn't resolve theirs THAT quick. If anything this latest cliffhanger could be like 0.3 where we dedicate a quarter or an eighth of story time at the beginning to resolve it. And frankly, considering that Orion kinda needs enough time to understand he fucked up and needs a kick in the nuts to get his head out of his ass, I feel like that's warranted.

We don't know, what kinda loop it is or if there are like clones are different Orions from different dimensions (that's, why left that kinda open), but I don't think they are happening simultaneously, since the coin example seems to indicate that there is one attempt after another, just as you would throw one coin again and again and not 1,000 simultaneously. But we will see.
