i care more about creative freedom than the "brand integrity" of the porn sex author, actually.
also, works on fanfiction.net are not commercial, and are not bound by the same laws as commercial works. i can draw superman as wide as he is tall with tits to match and DC can't do shit about it, and for good reason. taking down a fanfiction because you don't like it is abuse of power, plain and simple.
True to a degree, if you start deviating away from what the original work was, it's still fan fiction, but it's bad fan fiction. At that point you're making your own thing. Plenty of series that have the darker sides of monster girls, and delve into them. Hell some go fully in and have them pretty close to what they actually are supposed to be instead of being romantized.
