I agree it is damage control but NOT for F95, instead for his Patreon supporters and Picarto Viewes (which intersect).

I also agree this is not a small indie website; DC was kind-of active here before blowing up on other parts of the internet, F95 helped him gain a ton of Patreon subscribers, when he gained enough traction he abandoned F95 and focused on Patreon and Picarto.

While it is true that when new people who haven't heard of SS come here and see the thread as "abandoned" they will think twice about supporting him on Patreon, he has other websites where he is more popular and couldn't care less about the tag here.

Let's see how it goes from now on. I wouldn’t be surprised if the 'abandoned' tag jogs some memories about their current Patreon subscriptions. People often forget about subscription-based services, so it’s likely that a few patrons didn’t even remember they were still signed up.

My bank app sends me a notification of every charge into my account, I'm sure more than 90% of bank apps out there do that. I really don't think someone who was giving him money will see this tag and cancel his subscription. The ones who forgot about it sure as hell don't check here frequently.

Lots of people in his patreons cancelled their patreon and new people will replace them but now with abandoned tag there will be less newcomers to his patreon
People using this site to find a game and try it and if they like the game some will considering supporting the devs but when people see abandoned tag , they wont check the game hence no new supporters
And no!! new people won't read 3859 page just to check if he still streaming,they see the tag and bye
And remember f95's april fools about becoming one with patreon? Some developers believed that and they were celebrating! So yeah f95 is important for them

My bank does not notify me for every subscription I have, I'd have to enable that kind of notifications myself, but by default it's not enabled on my side. I do receive emails, but I'm sure some people don't receive anything or don't even look at their emails anyway.

This is a pretty common issue, and is the way many subscription services are actually making their money.

Hell there's even an app that will tell you exactly how much you're paying subscription fees in total across different services. People are that stupid.

If he did, he would have dropped something BEFORE it got slapped on the thread...

Like j4yj4m mentioned the other day, all he had to do was add one new scene to he current game anytime in the past 18 months to avoid the flag. An Easter special, or anything, like he had done with the 7 pre-tech updated until Oct 31. It didn't even need to be more than a few still images and it would have sufficed.

That ya all think you changed anything continues to show how cloudyheaded some of ya all are.

He's been putting out reports at the end of the month for the past year.

Hah I dunno,I kinda admire what DC has been pulling off.
Pretend working on a tech update for a(lets face it)rather simplistic game for multiple years under the guise of denoodeling your code and future proofing it.
So not just does he earn money for basicly no work but he also can keep doing it well into the future.
Its such a fantastic hussle that would only ever work with very specific consumer groups(like coomers...or cultists)that I just have to be impressed by it.

Anyway,here for the Abandoned-tag,the closest I will ever be of becoming part of history.

The game, for today's standards, is barely above average. The fanbase is annoying. The dev is lethargic.

So, yeah, I am hoping that the game gets finished as fast as possible. Because that means DC will leave the scene, and that's a huge net positive for the scene.

some dude said DC logged in here yesterday.. if that's true he definitely knows about the abandoned tag, i don't think he cares so much about it in the sense that he completly changed plans to get rid of it again but at the same time people from his discord and on picarto are going to bother and annoy him about the tag so i think he has some reason to get rid of it again

but yeah the main reason for drip feeding the tech update is probably more so that even his most hardcore supoorters are getting angry and he knows the finished tech update will take another 1 1/2 years (trying to be optimistic here)

A little positivity here but honestly most porn game devs would of ignored or just flat out ban people from servers if someone complained *cough* Bone Tales *Cough*
