Nitpicks:
-He should have probably split up the vod into two or at least seperate BS1 & BS2. I watched the video but still 2 hours is a lot!
-The shitposts cut ins are to fronloaded
-Missed opporturnity to make a Bloodborn joke at a very specific instance
-For some reason unknown to me a lot of these people have to mention this Limbus Company game and i still dont get the reference or reason
-Fumbled the japanese SEN-Insight-Sanity pun
-No Touhou at all (Or maybe i zoned out because of the vod lenght)

Cool things:
-The voice acted bits are charming and a nice touch
-Actual decent research about the fairy tale & wonderland themes
-Put the effort into giving a broad backround explanation about Carrrolll
-Later half of the vod is very well edited
-He did make one BB joke and for that +1
-Wasnt embaressed to show how many sidequests he screwed over or missed
-Pretty much on point for a basic summary
-Didnt claim like some other tubers its a freeware game(For the love of degeneracy thank you)
-Seemingly played RRW and had the same chuckle at that one CG

Maybe I've watched too many video essays but a 2 hour length is starting to seem almost normal. Video essays do sometimes end up being bloated but this one is mostly fine, it could've used a better structure and pacing but that's all

Still this niche game is slowly getting a bigger audience, unlike what some thing, I think that's a good thing

Saw it in my recommended and was playing the game as to not get spoiled. No I didn't play 2 yet despite following the thread and dodging spoilers here. Will get back to you on this...

I think my main nitpick about the 2h are he could have showcased a lot more individual instances of BS1 and 2 respectively. Because he already put in the effort to broadly show of the NPC dynamics.

Hey maybe Blacksouls will be the dealbreaker that leads to overall more acceptence for games with mature or heavy themes + ero elements. With the rise(or some might consider it fall) of FaH or other niche indie games who knows. One can dream or cope after all.

the time loop comes from lobotomy corp which is the first game in that series
then the sequel library of ruina which ties off loose ends and does a lot of world building
limbus company( is it a sequel or spinoff) also has time fuckery as the manager messes with time

anyway yes total worth just note lobotomy corp has a different game play style then the other two

It's already too late. Just look at that video essay. It leads off with a trigger warning and there's another one midway through prior to the section about Carrol, as well as the various graphical censoring. Anyone that feels they need that stuff in their video is already too normie imo. Then you got some of the comments that are surprised at various things such as the title (hentai game?!) which reveals the audience coming to watch that video.
We just need to hope Toro has the mental fortitude to ignore bad actors and make what he wants to make and not what certain kinds of people tell him to make.

Him being asian will probably help, but they have enough crazy people that are bored enough. Most of the crazies don't work so sadly they have the time.

What exact numbers on Royal tea and Quick dance skills? Description are kinda meh, also royal tea just pop whole bar (cant check is it all 6 stats buffs or not)...

Royal tea is fire, ice, lightning element buff (which also boosts attack by 5% each) + all stats upx2 (the default stat boosts like the one provided by consumables like carpenter screw) + 100% crit chance. Quick dance gives your entire team acrobatics which is basically dodge but it lasts 1 more turn and also stacks with dodge.

Wait, they made a sequel? First game was probably one of the best RPGMaker games, within top 3. But I thought they finished it in a way that can't be resumed. This is definitely something to look forward to.

So looking it up. The first game seems like a anime version of a SCP simulation game, second one is a weird mix of VN and card game and the third is straight up a gacha. This is a very weird pipeline for them to end up at gacha........and then i looked up the devs and they are korean so everything checks out.

Thats more on modern YT then anything else imo. Nowdays your vod can get nuked for saying fuck or shit while not having the correct labels. Unless you are one of YT premium league of course
Funny enough the 2h vod was nuked anway by the algoryhtm or some people spamming report till the bot takes it down regardless.
I do agree with the final sentiment. I hope when the day comes the language barrier is enough for Toro to be immune to it. Or at least Toro can live in creative blissfull ignorance. Depending on the scale they might take down Toros official social media...which would be a shame because lots of art isnt backed up on their pixiv.
