I don't like downloading unhold / abandoned games, but I needed to check this one out. It looks really good ... at least the first few minutes. Good renders, interesting narrative.
I went to the patreon and WTF! The guy has not posted an update since 03/2018, still has +800 patrons and 8k monthly? how is this possible?
The interesting thing is that it looks like he keeps his patrons informed every week. So that means he's working on the game ... but how the hell can anyone take so long in an update ??? Even other developers working on major updates, with low budget and high quality take 3-4 months.
Unless Gumdrop delivers the full game, with over 10 hours of gameplay, I don't think he's devoted time and money to this game.
I'm not that kind of complaining guy, but damn, this is bizarre.

obs: English is not my native language.
The think was he promess since most of one year to an big upload but His excuses was every time after a delay a bit more duvidious. The last one are about two 3D renders… Where will be complet after January for is coming relase ( 2years later the initial delay). This game is dead, lot of naives people can pay him for that, but after all that makes a funny topic here and everyone want to see how Rome will be burn at the end. A big Fire whit a big drama and nuclar explosion, or just likes the fire burn house by house to see at the end a land of ash whit the Emperor of liars sit whit is ass on pile of gold.

8k (or 4k) is a complete joke considering his texturing (and shading, especially skin and hair) is quite garbage: zoom in to 100% on her nipples to see the bumpy, blurry poor textures for yourself. It's even worse with props which tend to have flat solid textures, while hair shading is notoriously flat, noisy (obviously old hair assets with fewer cards), with no details or reflections. More than doing anything else, 8k renders would highlight his shortcoming and poor texturing skills. This is another bullshit excuse to keep scamming. I can't believe people still fall for his lies after he hilariously claimed that he had 10 gpus.

The guy from Dreams of Desire had way better texturing skills 2 years ago. This dude somehow claims that he spent 2 years working with Iray yet his textures haven't improved at all, and look quite terrible compared with what the big devs release nowadays. But he will do 8k renders  . What a sad joke of a scam.

Hi and welcome to the Twilight, eh, Gumdrop zone! Fear not, he doesn´t want your soul, only your money! All of it!
So... we at Twilight do not want your money. Can I help you with something?;)
But seriously, one of the things which make this thread great are our fellow F95 boys and girls, with humour and cynism! We are likewise baffled how a conman can keep defying the normal ways how patronage goes. Other Devs, far better devs than gumdrop ever will be, would be abandoned in troves, somehow gumdrop is not. Why that is so, the thread is full of theories on that. Just read a bit. As for gumdrop, he is simply someone Colonel Sandfurz and Lord Helmchen (Colonel Sandurz/Dark Helmet)have a talk about:

Well maybe after that 4k render many people wants a compressed version like what you said. Might be another idea. Kek
Anyone can downscale easily it's such a bullshit excuse there are scripts and programs out there that can do it quickly and efficiently in HOURS.

It's just another in a long line of excuses. The only disappointing thing in all this is that people like Gumdrop and ICSTOR are screwing up the entire patron system. If you are a high earning dev and you see what Gumdrop and ICSTOR are doing why on earth would you continue to toil away and plug out updates when it so much easier to just string along their patrons?

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to money laundering 101. I have no other explanation how his earnings are still that high. I mean there are people out there who are absolutely resistant to frustraton and logic, but still as high as a year ago or maybe even a bit higher - that's beyond me.

guess what, lifted from his discord:

"When'll it all be done? Before the heat death of the universe, probably. More surely before Christmas. Both those windows are ridiculous, already millennia past previous windows established, however it's simply embarrassing at this point to miss another promised date, to once again let you down."

the guys an actual scum bucket who has fleeced so many people with this fraud that its actually sickening

Calling the attention of the admins. Gumdrop is scamming people. The new post is about the 2 animation and after delay last sept 10, its not yet started. And now theres still 8 more animations to follow. Good lord. I dont think it will come this 2019 maybe 2020 but i doubt. Admin should reconsidered their earlier "note". On-hold is pretty kind. This devs should tag as a scammer.

The mods and admins here don't care about that as long as there is communication.

Hey gang. Monday became a bit fatter than intended, more resembling a Tuesday at this point; let's wait no further!
Part X
First off, I want to spill the beans on animations; nothing too spooky, I promise. The majority of animations I've commissioned from our animator FatCat have been posed. Inversely, the majority of animations have not been rendered; this includes the final two animations yet to be posed.
There are 10 animation sequences in Part X, each of those having between 2-3 camera angles to render each as individual animations. The past weeks, I tasked FatCat to clean up some past animations to prepare for their rendering; much of the lighting and camera placement were rushed (at my request, fault) to move to posing the next animations in line.
This week, I'll be sending him the remaining assets for the final two animations for him to begin posing, along with fixing up the previous animations to our liking. For those unfamiliar, Dual Family's animations aren't posed/rendered with the same program the normal, static scenes are. Blender is a much more versatile engine when it comes to animation, however needs some extra hugs n' kisses to make it look similar to the original, static scene it's mimicking.
A shot from the pool, using the default rendering software (Daz3d):

Standing by my previous sentiment, I urge you to withhold your pledge if the weekly content leading up to Part X isn't as valuable to you as your support. I'll do my best to provide for those who choose to tag along a little longer, sharing a cutie pie or two if you'll let me.
Act II
I've dropped hints throughout previous chats about Act II's change in setting. The time skip, though modest, is only one major shift along with the entirely new environment you'll explore.
Up until a month ago, I've organized the local team to work on projects adjacent to the game's development; things like HTML5, flash and Steam versions of the game. Posing and render have always been two of the biggest time-sinks into development, so shifting the team's gears unto that was necessary. The four of us can organize, pose and polish off multiple scenes in tandem rather than ol' Kyle being locked up in the render mines all alone; I'd say the former is preferable!
With our start last month, we've begun collecting and constructing assets for the settings Act II's first part will show off. There's quite a lot more outside environments compared to the first act, where most interactions stayed behind closed doors. This open setting also contributes to the gameplay change as well, allowing chapters to be more roamable compared to their previously on-rails feel.
We'll have more to show the coming months; nothing scandalous enough to spoil the juicy bits in Part X. I hope I'll see some of you there, assuming you still enjoy bob-haired mothers and upstanding, feisty youths.
