I tried all the suggestions in regards to save files, but nothing works, even took all the saves out and resaved a new game then put new saves in those slots, nothing works...

You have to do that while not in the menu. I know that this solution isn't perfect, my first goal when adding this was to keep old saves working. I will probably work on the description feature again in the future.

Thanks, I use saves as gallery and it's hard keeping tabs of them all, I hope that's something that will be added in the future.

There is an christmas event in december as is stated in changelog, if you care to read it in the first place.

I remember seeing a christmas tree near the ruins, but it was on implemented then, maybe it's the trigger.

Have Tia in your group and be a Christmas Grinch... but be prepared for a though combat challenge as the spirit of Christmas is not kind to those types
But it also leaves presents behind if you manage to succeed

Its by the monument for the victims in the first war, you can't miss it its a big decorated christmas tree.
