That's not what he's saying at all. He's saying that Patreon will only modify their rules if adult games become as big as mainstream video games in terms of revenues and profits
Which is why it will never happen, we as the human race as of right now are totally flawed.

You ever question yourself why you must wear clothes or necktie ?

You cannot just handcuff someone and tell them to make it big with their own hand

Thought Policing are bigger than ever nowaday, forget about making it big with lewdness .

more so what I was saying is that when adult games show to make a lot of money, financial institutions will be less likely to impose arbitrary rules upon the devs

not a fan but if devs wana add micro in, thats their choice, the issue is very few services allow adult content, patreons kind of a work around, i.e. if a dev added micro he couldnt use paypall to handle the payment as an example, the few that do have high fees so micros not an option, as far as I know

wouldnt mind karyn getin different outfits tho
This^ specifically the last sentence

Why does Patreon bother dev's so much? i think i know 1 reason and thats about incest/patches but this game doesn't have incest right? so why bother him.
Patreon was built primarily on porn, but now that they're established they want to distance themselves from that for PR purposes.

They haven't made any steps yet toward an actual ban on all NSFW material, but one of the latest big trendy moral crusades is "anything done in anime style is evidence of pedophilia, because adult women in anime have childlike faces" so I think they're probably cracking down on Rem over the art style.
Other artists have been deplatformed for drawing pictures of obviously adult but flat chested women, and others have been banned over material they posted on entirely unrelated sites that never touched Patreon, all for supposedly endorsing **********.

edit: huh. Did not know this site had an auto-censor set up.

three questions.
when did we start talking about patreon bans and off site enforcement?
why are we acting like only porn is affected?
why are right wingers to blame when the most high profile case ever was sargon?
none of this makes any sense. why can't we just talk about sexy jail game? guess that makes four...

Sargon was banned because he is flirting too close to white nationalism, not because of muh "sjw global post modern neo marxism agenda". The primary reason they are going after porn games for any reason they can find at all is because paypal is notoriously against porn in general and paypal is the nr 1 payment processor online.

not as big as mainstream games but bigger than they are now, when VR becomes as common in houses as consoles you can assume adult games with be much bigger and mainstream than they are now

games like karyns prison might even get a VR version who knows

Sargon was banned because he was a huge liability and enough people hated him on every political spectrum that patreon could safely get rid of him with relatively less backlash. Their management and long term vision is not all there but a lot of their more odd decisions are often not their own but pressure from payment processors they're beholden to. They don't have a lot of options and in more recent months it's starting to fall apart, the lawsuits they're losing are just a start.

Anyway, fingers crossed we actually get to play v6 before the end of the month.

We're talking about Patreon because it directly affects the development of the game this thread is about, what with the author's primary income source suddenly drying up and having to be replaced and the only (legal) source of new update downloads closing down so we need to get the files from someplace else.

The majority of the recent Patreon bans have been adult artists, who are suddenly subject to a vague, constantly changing, and inconsistently enforced set of rules.

This is one of the places that the right vs left dichotomy completely falls apart. The modern progressives, or at least the loudest minority among them, are essentially advocating Puritan values but painted over with 'woke' terminology. They aren't pressuring companies to stop supporting pornographic art because it's "unchristian", but rather because it's "encouraging violence against women". They aren't saying anime is bad because it's created by evil foreigners, they're saying anime is bad because it promotes pedophilia (somehow). They aren't saying video games are evil because they turn children into trained killers, but-- oh, wait, they are still saying that, but they think games turn kids racist too. The end result is the same as the pearl-clutchers of yesteryear, but they get to pat themselves on the back about how progressive they are and accuse their opponents of being reactionary conservatives. Don't even get me started on the rampant transphobia and biphobia in the LGBT community...

And on that note, how likely do you think it is that Karryn will get some girl-on-girl action in a future update? There are female visitors and blushing fans in the receptionist job, but none of them ever seem to want to go past a handshake. We're running out of floors for new generic enemy types to show up on, but there are three unknown boss battles to come...

Although the previous bosses didn't have much in the way of sexual activity. The orc had a couple of h-attacks during the fight but if you lost he just sent you to the bar closet with the generic mooks again, and the scientist did even less than that...

But that's exactly what I'm saying, if they did add micropayments they might generate enough revenue to catch the interest of financial institutions. You both say that the issue is that these games don't generate enough revenue and my suggestion was addressing exactly that issue.

Though Elcho, you have a point that there might be an issue with actually getting those payments in practice and I don't know how one would solve that unless you start up your own bank.
