Hi!
First of all - thanks for a great game. I'm especially fan of the Alyson content. My only complaint is as others have mentioned that it is quite unclear which quests can even be completed. I do like that you can see upcoming quests, but it kind of defeats the purpose if some of those quests are not available in the current version. I saw in some other post that this version is incomplete and was not supposed to be released, so that might be the cause.
My suggestion is to have completed, current, and upcoming quests in separate tabs (or similar) to make it less cluttered. If you still wish to go with colors, I suggest having something else to distinguish them for those that are colorblind. Perhaps a checkmark or strike-through for completed quests. And/or go with colors with different brightness (which you already suggest). Also keep in mind that the most important quests for the user are those that are currently active, so those should probably be more prominent than the completed ones. So if you choose green for those - make it a green that isn't so "popping".
Perhaps you should also have another state for quest that are started, but cannot be finished in the current version. Some sort of To be continued. Perhaps the little "under construction" icon that's used in-game.
Oh, I also found a bug when handing in an assignment that would put your writing stats over 10. It seemed to try to use an image that didn't exist to display the stars. I don't have the stacktrace now, but I can probably retrigger it if you would like.
