Yeah, in general I wanted for player to be able to do each thing only once a day, otherwise people would be spamming the same stuff over and over...

Hm, it's really out of my control. There can be plenty reasons. For example - if you're using online, you might see a different save games when playing on

and becomealphagame.com (without www), because your browser treats it as two separate entities. So you might check that, and you can transfer a save by saving it locally, and then importing.
If you're playing offline, make sure it's the same browser (saves are in browser cache). Make sure you don't delete browser cache, or play incognito mode (because it automatically deletes browser cache). Not much else I can tell you, if your browser cache is gone, then saves are gone.
