For what i'd thought to be a pretty mature forum, f95 sure has a lot of bickering.
I mean, if one is to have a slight opinion to how a game is developed, one would have to atleast be a patron and not some rano on a pirate site :)

Majority of what i've experienced on alot of threads here are on a kindergarden level, or an American level.

One more thing, the name of the follower of Lilith was changed from Darya to Ava during the 3 way scene with the M/C and Morrigan. It was confusing since the original Ava was the M/C's trainer until Morrigan took action.
Okay so I wasn't going slightly mad. That change threw me off in particular because Ava was gotten rid of in my playthrough.

I'll also be joining the chorus is expressing my disdain, dislike, and disgust with the sandbox shift. I see it doing more harm than good in both the short and long term.

I wish we were given more information on the old world considering we've sent Morgana off to recruit them...more information on why it is such an awful place and why folks would be willing to risk death in a war that isn't their own to leave it.

I have nothing against sandbox games personally, but my complaint concerns how the introduction of the sandbox mechanic after such an intense VN prologue totally breaks immersion. IMO the sandbox mechanic just does not fit the story and degrades an otherwise superb VN.

In my playthrough Morrigan spared Ava, but she is otherwise gone.

The background story on the "Continent" can be had by playing Viz Origins. It is a prequel to the main story and tells a bit about Morganna.

I must say I am happy I do not have to collect chickens etc as those games are just not for me so thank you for not doing that. I have really loved this story and am glad you are able to continue on. if you are one of those who does not like to wait for weekly gold then get the renpy save editor and add some currency. buy or build or do a few things and then add some more. there seems to be a max limit so you can not add 3 zillinon coins at once. this for me made it go a bit faster but you do loose the game play the dev has created. thanks again for the share.

Mature in what way? There are so many ways of interpreting the word. Even then, some people would disagree by your definition, and that of another.

So your argument is that one should shut up unless they support the Dev? Why would the Dev engage with a bunch of Pirates if they believed that to be true? Just asking.

Majority of what i've experienced on alot of threads here are on a kindergarden level, or an American level.
This one is the most confusing to me. I don't think most threads fall into the category of "kindergarden level" considering most people are pretty respectful regardless of game, bar a few choice examples.

As an American I am VERY critical about my own country, but hearing someone else do it in such a way to suggest that somehow American's are at a "kindergarden" level seems kind of ironic. Like a pot calling the kettle black. However, this kettle is actually yellow and it's in pretty good condition. If you read what I'm typing and somehow come away with the same assumption about Americans, I don't know what to tell you. Disabuse yourself of the notion that you are better than others. We all have good days and bad days. In America, we complain a lot about our days, but they are not too bad and probably (don't know the stats) better than most. I don't know where you're from, but I respect it, though I suggest you try to respect other peoples home. The world is big and people of a certain country are not a monolith. We are ALL different. Sit on that for a bit.

Regardless, have a nice day.

Yeah, i'll agree that was not my best moment. Petty afterthoughts from another dicussion im afraid :)

And that is what was my point :D You obviously, are not, but the attitude of most people here are the opposite.
The same thing is brought up every other comment. Be it Sandbox, NTR, Harem or w/e. as if their opinion is crutial. And then the squabbles start and rage on - Witch imho is extremly childish. Hence my inquiry about how mature this forum is :)
(And also related to my mistake above)
My opinion aside, players who contribute or come with nonbiased advice are most likey to be heared. Not angry little kids not getting their way was my point.

Hey all,

Since I want this game to reach as many hearts as a badass brunette named Morrigan would, I will make this announcement.
When we first started developing the sandbox part, before the 1.4 release, I talked with the developer about the effort to implement a one-time option in-game to trigger on and off the sandbox. Basically, for the players to choose if they should play the game, including a sandbox system, or only VN.

I came to this resolution. With the next release, there will be two builds. One that includes the story + sandbox, and another one that only has the story (VN). Why two builds?! Because the story + sandbox build will be bigger than the VN-only build. So players that will choose the VN will have smaller-sized builds, as many of the sandbox features, won't be present.

Increasing timer speed not enough ??
Maybe I guess that can work but I literally sat in front of my screen for hours while playing another game because it wasn't fast enough for me and personally I would like the option to skip days but just in case the game in future updates has timed events then maybe a function that warns you that skipping the current day will make the player skip out on a good scene either that or scenes stay forever until you view them

The main issue with the sandbox is the time counter. The appropriate speed range should be 50-500 ms. Other than that I'm fine with it and who knows, maybe I'll actually enjoy it if passing edicts triggers h-scenes. Anyway, my hackneyed fix for the problem:
Python:
#models.rpy
init -3 python:
    class TimeChart():
        MINUTE = 0.01
        HOUR = MINUTE * 60.0
        DAY = HOUR * 24.0
        WEEK = DAY * 7.0

        def __init__(self):
            pass

        @staticmethod
        def get_cooldown_in_weeks(cooldown):
            cooldown_weeks = int(cooldown / TimeChart.WEEK)
            if cooldown % TimeChart.WEEK > 0 : cooldown_weeks += 1
            return cooldown_weeks
Thank you!

In addition to this, Mad King, it appears there's a slight discrepancy in the points awarded when you spend the night with Morrígan before the battle. When you are given the option to have Darya join for a threesome or to be with Morrígan alone, the stat indicator in the upper left shows +5 to the relevant Morrígan stat. However, after the fact when I check the current stat levels for her, it has increased by 10. I don't know whether the upper left indicator or the current stat level is in error, but they do not match right now.

Some additional bugs I found (which may or may not have already been reported):
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Additionally, I would strongly recommend that on the sandbox you have tooltips when someone hovers over an icon so they can be reminded of what that represents. For example, hovering over the day would give the common equivalent for players (the display may show "Jove" but the tooltip would read "Thursday"). Better yet, in this specific case, have the day be clickable, and have the position in the week laid out for the players; something like this (but with your designed icons, of course), where the current day is highlighted:

I think it makes everyone a bigger person to admit when they are wrong or at least on the wrong side of the line. I respect your thoughts for sure. I'll say, that not everyone is gonna be their most mature self when it comes to petty things such as games. I'm a HUGE gamer in a non-ironic way. I've been playing for basically my whole life, but I definitely don't put a candle to this genre and the real world. Though I do try to act as objective as possible. However, not everyone does, nor do they care to. And honestly, I think that's fine. If something really heats someone else, as long as they aren't too toxic, they should be able to let their emotions fly. Again, within reason. I hated a few bad decisions from Devs that completely destroyed both my trust and my love for a game. I'm not about to says "FUCK YOU AND HOPE YOUR HOUSE BURNS" but i'd be lying if it wasn't cathartic to read others thoughts and see that other people are as equally upset as I am. Now, I don't see Mad King ever turning this game into Foot of the Mountains (as if that travesty could ever be equaled) but I respect people being especially critical.

There is a song by Rush with a line that's always hit me pretty hard. It reflects the inability of the singer to speak against a well intentioned/selfish situation and knowing that there is most likely trouble in the future. The person heading towards that metaphorical "iceberg" might not know it's coming. I feel it fits these kinds of situations, albeit not as dire.

Distant Early Warning by Rush said:
The world weighs on my shoulders, but what am I to do? You sometimes drive me crazy but I worry about you. I know it makes no difference to what you're going through. But I see the tip of the iceberg and I worry about you.
Whenever you can speak about something you feel will negatively impact something, why not throw your voice out there. It might be for the best, in the end, but you'll never know unless they also consider your point of view.

Still really liking this game, but some issues in the most recent update:

In the war council meeting when Morgana spoke before others arrived her name showed as 'morrigan'

Also, and maybe this is just due to the newness of the release, but the editing, and legibility of the writing in this update is way below the standards of previous updates. It definitely needs another pass or two. (for example: 'You feel how the moister drains down your tongue' moister = moisture....and there is one in the war council about Wilifred making 'pennants' which I'm pretty sure should be 'penance' unless Morrigan was feeling punny...etc. etc.)

Hey Mad King, just a question. Does the Sandbox have extra content that the VN doesn't? So if I play VN mode am I missing out on content? I'd hate it if there are some scenes that could have been added to VN to be exclusive to sandbox because you give them priority. Just a thought.
