Look, I never meant anything about it being common/uncommon or how we as a society should reflect upon it. I just thought it might be an error or that the author had not realised the implications.
And I only pointed out that the problem you have is not uncommon in Real Life.
In the game it may be an oversight.
Or it may be deliberate as maybe Hana was not married but 'sold' by her 'owner'.
Keep in mind Hana is a non-human in a human society that somewhat recently opened up to the thought.

Really liking it so far! Watching this thread with a lot of interest. Might I just ask if you have a planned update schedule, or are you just updating as you go? Apologies if you've answered this question someplace else.

That's news to me.
In that case play the intro from the game once more and "read between the lines".

The very first interaction with Billy you can mention that the town has not changed at all to which he replies that the town did not but the people did change their way of thinking a lot "especially about non-humans".
You get similar responses from multiple people.
Lily as a non-human named "James and his gang" alongside other "annoying people" indicating that the town was not as friendly and open minded as it is now.
It is a relatively short jump to conclude the non-humans in the human society were not treated as equals and some if not many treated them as animals or property.

To be fair, a small town not being particularly accepting of a minority group(I'm assuming demi/non-humans are less prevalent than humans) doesn't have to mean slavery or something of the sort. If we assume this is a town in a more rural area where social change takes more time, it isn't unthinkable that this is more akin to common racism or homophobia.

Don't worry, no one has asked me yet. I'll try to do weekly updates, but I don't want to make any promises in case something goes wrong or affects the game. Glad you like the game, I hope to be able to improve it more and more.

One is hating/treating humans bad because of skin color.
One is hating/treating humans bad because of sexual orientation.
One is hating/treating non-humans bad because they are not humans.

Yeah... you are right.
That's a massive difference right there.

Looks promising, I also wish there was alternate Rina route where you can "resist her charm" for her own good :p, I mean I don't know why she acts like that but in that situation begging her is kind of... weird, I don't know, it just didn't fit the narration so far... I guess? At least for me.

I'm stuck in a constant loop, No matter what I do or how I go through the day the book won't add trust/affection to either of the characters, is there something I'm missing or is it just bugged?

Nvm just spammed hang out and gave candy to Rina and it worked, can't wait to for the next update!

No, it's a leap to jump to a recent past of slavery.

No, it's a leap to jump to a recent past of slavery.
Wrong.
Hurting someone else because of XYZ and owning someone because of XYZ are two escalation stages of the same issue.

Seriously look at the intro.
The very first sequence has the "husband" of Hana coming home drunk and threatening both Hana and Rina with violence.
That can be seen as "only" domestic violence or as a "owner/slave relationship issue".
It is very hard to assume this is a completely isolated and unheard of problem. More likely it is the "husband" sticking to "the old ways" that he grew up with.
Whether that past is outright owning non-humans or "only" treating non-humans as sex slaves is irrelevant.

It is your choice to believe what you want.

MrDracosaurus Nice game so far, I will check out Nightmares before Halloween too. One thing that worries me a little is the relationship with Hana's daughter. She is supposed to be 20 but looks more around 13-16. This could become troublesome if Patreon finds out and puts you under review for having the same impression. She looks very hot though, curse of the perverts, I guess. :D

I don't mind underaged content in games but you are playing with fire there. :/

In reality, Rina is not that small, in fact she is almost as big as Lily and other of the characters that I have planned. She only acts like that in front of her mother.
The thing is that Hana is big, she is a head taller than the protagonist so it is possible that Rina looks smaller because of it.
I am not going to make underaged content, even so, I'll make sure to reflect her age better in the game, thank you for telling me.
