What's the difference between spineless and unassertive?

In my eyes a person is spineless when he lets other people put him down despite being reasonably able to defend himself. While unassertive person just does not take initiative to pursue his desires or just too timid in interactions that dont warrant it.

Let me get something straight. MC just arrived at his OWN house(what I understand from busty lawyer,but maybe I was distracted) and he didn't mention that and instead he is listening about house rules?? Really?

It boggles the mind. Why? It makes no fucking sense at all, it doesn't matter if it "makes sense" for story reasons we are not privy to as of yet, it's not how such a situation should go down and it instantly ruined any immersion for me and it just never recovered from that. I'll keep an eye on it for the renders, but that (and the obvious ESL writing moments) is just too much.

Why so many of you guys found this weird? His father dies and mentions the house, its inhabitants and some kind of conditions in his will. Mc arrives there and mysteriously he was expected as a tenant. I naturally thought that this was some kind of undercover thing arranged by his dead father so mc could get to know people who live there. Going with the flow for now and looking out for more clues would be very reasonable, thats what I would do too.

I was really surprised when it turned out to be a confusion with identical surnames and Erika scheming. Although we might not have the whole story yet.

Because when that happens he's supposed to say "I'm sorry lady but there's been a mistake. My father, Mr. Sanders used to own this house and I've inherited it as part of his will." And from there you bring up what the lawyer told you, show some sort of proof, because she would obviously want to verify that. How is that not how it goes down?

The models look good, but almost at all times I felt like I was playing a mix between the games "Reunion" and "Where is the hearth"...

The final decision of the Mc (imho) does not make any sense
- Return the check and give the house away....
-Accept the check and sell the house....
- Tear up the check and give the house away.....

How about an option where the MC does not sell it or give it away? and just keep it? the player doesn't even know the woman and is forced to give the house away or sell it, as if it were nothing... (imo cringe as f... and bad writing,who the hell would give away a house or sell it without any knowledge of the real prices....)

The blonde "Stacy" yeah yeah, her bitch attitude is going to be because she's being blackmailed and when the mc helps her she's going to change, meanwhile the mc is going to be the simp he has to be...fuck that shit, she doesn't know the mc nor does the mc know her, why not let the player make a choice there and talk back to her...

EDIT: By the way, I think it would be really appreciated to have a list of the planned tags in "Genre Spoiler" and maybe in "Dev Notes" specify if the fetishes are avoidable (the player prevents it according to choices) or skippable.

Seems promising, but the finish of Freeloading Family was such a mess that I'm not sure what to expect.

I normally don't play first versions, but made an exception for this.

Straight out the gate, the writing is fine. Sets up some plot points to chase, things seem to be moving along. A lot of inner thoughts, but that's fine, it establishes the world and the MC. Characters are pretty good, I can hear their voices. Erika is the most intriguing of them all so far, but Melissa is my favorite. A lot of spelling and some continuity errors. I thought about listing them here, but I kind of ran out of quicksave slots at the end. There's at least 2 places where the wrong character is listed as saying a thing. Honestly just give the whole thing a replay, the errors are easy to notice. Also, when Melissa is drinking the wine with MC, you don't call a man "beautiful". Use "handsome" instead.

The MC is fine. Has his own personality, seems to be the kind of semi-shy introvert that you might expect from having grown up with different nannies and never having any huge issues to deal with on his own. The one time he did try to go on an adventure, he failed hard. Pretty hilarious for me, but I can see how that might dampen any hot headed tendencies he might have had. The house issue is also...fine. He has enough money and doesn't seem to value it all that much. It's not outside the established character to just give up the house. Just one thing to note, that is a pretty big milestone for the character. The traits that have been established now must be respected in the future releases, so don't make him suddenly into someone who really gives a shit about his retirement account and plans everything he does 20 steps ahead. Otherwise he will look like a schizo.

Renders are great. The ladies are lovely. Could use planned tags ITT. Overall I liked it, good start. Will wait to see where it goes.

Didn't say you called, I did called it, for me the scenes described here make him a spineless mc.
Selfless and unassertive isn't quite the words i would use for that actions but will not "fight" with you about it because I'm "talking" based on what i had read here.



Don't have a issue with this writer i don't know him to base a opinion on him.

Now you as dev is another story, you weren't the writer for FF but you where the dev, I supposed you are the big boss on your team dunno if you are or not tough just assumptions, you as the dev should be the one reading the script and say hummm nop this will not work, redo it again without this shit and this shit for example but you didn't, in a way i get it i think you tough they were at least decent to good enough endings and just didn't realized you would be "screwing" at least "half" of FF fan base, so in the end it's not about trusting the new writer but more about the trusting the dev that let that kind of endings slip into the game isnted of scraping them to the trash can.
And if I'm wrong assuming you are the "boss" in the team i apologize to you.
But again this in more FF talk than about this game right now and I will not diverge the thread more just wanted to be clear that isn't a problem with the new writer.
Trust is something invaluable while supporting devs at least for me and many dev "tainted" hard the trust on devs with all their shenanigans.
The same way for me the reward i got from following/trusting your game(FF) from the start or almost from the start was a bucket of shit down my head that's were you lost the trust of many.

About this one, the scenes described here don't paint the mc in a good way but more in the line of the generic spineless mc, but if was not the writer intention and he is willing to try to rectify that, its a good thing for the game

I agree that we shouldn't go off-thread. But I just want to clear something up before we break this off-topic discussion. I was not the "boss" where the writer would have to get everything past my vicious gaze as if I was the Eye of Sauron. I have been quite honest and transparent about the fact that I'm personally a terrible writer. So if I were to meddle in the business of another writer, I would more than likely mess it up. Me and the writer for Freeloading Family worked side by side. He handled the writing, I handled the art. Sure I may have made some notes to him, shared my thoughts and whatnot, but ultimately he would make the final decision in the story. Because I trusted him on delivering a good story.

I also agree that trust is invaluable in devs, especially when it comes to supporting them. I just want to be transparent and clear. Criticize me all you want for what happened with FF. I wouldn't like it, but I think it's well within your right. However, I think it's unfair to the new writer to prematurely make conclusions based on FF's writing. Since he had nothing to do with that. That's all.

Either way, I just wanted to clear that up. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Thinking how this story was voted by patreons (meaning the people that support your previous game) I would assume that they are expecting a set of fetishes close to Freeloading Family, and I am too.

Well I really like it so far... I enjoyed how the writing presents MC to have a decent thoughtful personality, better than most of the rich young boys his age entering into the college life. And his father, even though had a busy career and terminal illness, was still able to instill goodness and wisdom into his son life while being a single father raising him.

But, many would really like to see and know the projects "future tags", to know what direction this story will take. As I'm not a fan of sharing and unavoidable (NTR), sisification, fu... (chicks with dicks), lesbian's stealing or sating (corrupting ) MC's LI'(s)…to name a few kinks that's not for me. And VERY important, what type of relationship opportunities' will be available? (Dating, harem, etc.)

And one last thing.... great job with the beautiful renders, character personalities, and how the story has progressed (flowed) so far. I really hope to see more (soon), as this has great potential with the quality of writing and content.

Like I said. We worked side by side. If there was a disagreement, then I would trust him to know better as the writer. Because like I said, I'm a terrible writer. I obviously voiced my concerns and notes. But allowed him the freedom to choose what to do with it.

I know. But I was simply asking you more specifically for the sake of curiosity. If you would see a list of tags. Which would entice you and which would you avoid.

We definitely have a direction for the story. I just honestly didn't know that "planned tags" was even a thing until now. We will most likely compile a list of said tags and make sure it's out at the very least in time for the next update.
