May I ask if it's worth using mods on the first playthrough? They seem to improve the game technically, but also change the gameplay.

Depends on the mod. I've tried Boned mod and Horny Eve which offer higher a skill floor and more integration of sex respectively.
Boned Mod: I made the mistake of activating it on my first playthough since I'm used to titles like Furi and Dust: An Elysian Tail on max difficulty. The game is harder, but in mostly annoying ways like non-cancelable attacks, a knockout mechanic that's so oppresive you might as well play with 10 hp, and enemies becoming immune to hit stun for way too long after taking a hit. I'll admit the base game has lots of cheesy strategies, but this mod hard nerfs the bulk of them at the cost of mobility and your ability to deal with crowds. Also sex is a soft-lock trap thanks to a rhythm mechanic (timed presses to escape sex instead of button mashing) with minimal feedback, stamina drain that makes escaping less effective overall with repeated sex and lower hp, and poisonous cum that drains nearly all your hp in a single shot. Not recommended.
Horny Eve: Grab enemies to engage sex scenes. Sex damages enemies and heals your when you complete scenes. Doesn't work on traps/stationary enemies. Turn on "H Scene (Not Game over)" in the options and have fun discovering all the scenes with reduced risk. Recommended.

you should use horny eve, but not any others, unless you like it when games become annoyingly difficult for no reason other than to make you grind

"Technically", you can choose another clothes, but to change to another clothes, you have to do some extra work that may require some photoshopping.
All you have to do is to photoshop these picture into the outfit of your liking, then use a software such as AssetsBundleExtractor to replace the default picture in the resources.assets with your photoshopped picture.

So he did the same stuff with this game that he would later do with Night of Revenge, huh? I'll make sure to avoid his mods then. I really disliked his mod's changes in Night of Revenge and it seems his idea of "fun" was made up long time ago. More power to him, but that's a no from me.

ok can someone here answer a real question? since the only way to play in 4k is with a mod that completely ruins the gameplay, is there a way to just unlock the gallery?

Yeah you can just hit F1 while in the gallery iirc, that should do it.

that's.... how you unlock the gallery instantly... press f1 in the gallery.... not sure what's the aggression for
that has never at any point to me worked at all still doesn't i assume veryone saying that is messing with people.
i have beaten the final boss and have a 100% save from here after and have nothing in the gallery. how do i get all these posts deleted? (i got no answers and was a jerk)

then maybe it's with your mods or game version. i have been religiously following this game before release and at some point the gallery f1 unlock has been implemented up to the release version. or maybe it's your keyboard scheme as well.

maybe.. grimhelm has a tendency to disappear and then comeback with an update/preview. so there's really no telling if grimhelm is or is not working on anything atm

F1 key works, and not only that it works because I just used it, but others have used it too. If you'd bother to use the search function of this forum you'd see it, all you had to search for was "gallery". I assure you that we don't care enough to troll you, there is no gallery shortcut conspiracy.
The answer is correct, therefore either the question is wrong or it's a PICNIC type error. I'd suggest checking that you've got the latest unmodded version of the game first and go from there.
P.S: You may delete your posts by using the Delete button right under them, bottom left of the post to delete.
In light of this evidence I think the PICNIC error is a very likely scenario.

Another (although unlikely) possibility is that he has a keyboard with a "F Lock" key. This key is located near those F1-F12 keys (in my case it's located immediately to the right of F12 key), and, after being pressed, it turns off all F1-F12 keys until you press "F Lock" again.
