it was my first experiment with fake texting, a lot of moving parts, but I think it will be useful in the future.
I saw some others with CGI but mainly with the models doing still shots or video clips.

I wish all visual novels on this site provided depth maps, That way there could be 3d type effects to the image.
You can rotate a little around the characters.
Either way, I wish your story was a mod for Duet, I'm looking forward to reading more of that story.

That's great for some things, but usually the depth mapper is built into the rendering part.
On Blender, you can run a Zpass along with the render, in order to generate those results.
My work isn't porn related there, unfortuantely, it's a little crazier.
It's a little different than a Normal Map.
A Normal Map is applied to a model.
A depth map on the other hand is like a range map for the pixels in the image.
With a 3d model, it's far more accurate.

If you check this out, load the normal image as a reference image, and the depth map in the depth map.
You'll see what I mean.
Depth player will probably crash if you use my prior set of images.
Here is an improvement, you can smooth the model or change the far plane and view it.
I also modified the depth map to give better detail.
This wasn't a bad quick fix though.
The depth map for this image was generated with Midas V3.1
