Where things go with Riya seems to be up to the Patrons. The dev will eventually poll them on whether Riya also cucks Ethan or whether it turns into a new romance where Ethan moves on with her. I don't know why we can't just have both but I guess resources are limited.

One reason could be that the audience is male, half have been divorced. Courts are brutal and ex-wives can be doubly so. Add in many of those men were cheated on by wives and girlfriends. You get to control the MC but the cheating wife not as much. I understand why they are angry towards a cheating wife even a VN wife.
