Devs are often torn between the need to deliver the product in time and taking time off to avoid a burnout. It's hard to communicate that state of mind to your patrons so many choose silence.
But this developer has a myriad of excuses for all of the delays - computer equipment crashes, health issues, etc. I would rather see a conclusion to the story after 4 years rather than be left hanging with no ending, like with so many other abandoned NTR type games. Sometimes these stories hit sort of a dead end and creativeness drys up.

Well the game began in 2021 so unless you think he'll conclude it this year, the argument doesn't really work. That said he he has done way more than many other developers as is.

Thought this game was based on one of his NTR books that are already finished

The other part is it's someone's baby, someone's hard work, attention to detail and obsession for perfection. Then random people impose demands and try to change it. Then it becomes something else, it's no longer something which belongs to the dev in the same intimate way. It's like NTR but for someone's creative obsession.
