Ouch, expensive. Have fun with the new hardware, I'd like to get a second GPU one day, but since my GPU had 16gb of Vram, it handles renders pretty well.

Yeah, it was a chunk of change. I ain't going to lie, it kind of hurt.

I had 2x 3090 ti's and blew one of them. So I found 3 refurb 3090's for "only" $3k, a 200 watt power supply and switched everything over to a mining rig open case. The contraption looks very Rube Goldberg, but I'm back in business!

No, not yet. It's on my "to do" list.

The plan is to more or less finish off AFAS, set up a Steam page, spend a month or so tweaking the game and adding a few bonus lewd scenes that don't interfere with the story and build wishlists, then launch on Steam. Probably looking at a fall launch.

This game is pretty much spot on if you ask me. it is a welcome change to some of the repetitive, hung like a horse shagging everything in sight nonsense that pervades this site....

I was running 2 video cards on my render box and blew one. Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound, I decided to upgrade to a 4 video card system. It was great.

For 2 whole days.

I just popped my brand new shiny 2000W power supply. It was pretty impressive, a big flash, a pop and the smell of burned wire. Not to mention an almost cartoon-like little puff of white smoke.

Hopefully the power supply was the only thing that blew. It's going to take at least a week to return the burned out power supply and get a new one - assuming the power supply is the only thing that melted down.

On top of everything else I'm already running about a week or 10 days behind schedule. This disaster is going to put me behind at least another week.

As YOU are the ones that are supporting my games and making all this possible, I think it's important to be honest and upfront about what exactly is going on. And above everything else, to be fair to everyone.

I've decided to pause the Patreon billing cycle for a month while I repair my render box and get caught up - and back on track with a regular release cycle.

On the bright side, with 4 video cards that sucker ran like a top-fuel dragster. Two bad it only lasted for 2 days.

hopefully it was only the psu that blew. had a similar mishap after a hardware upgrade a few years back. everything internal had to be replaced, due to the psu not being powerful enough to run everything. that was an expensive experience...

I'm REALLY hoping that it was just the power supply. Power wasn't the issue, it ran fine wide open for about 20 hours. Hopefully it was only a bad PSU.

and i'm sorry if i made you feel bad, just wanted to share a worst case scenario. if something else is broken, buying and adding a new psu might actually destroy the new one too. just make certain that nothing else is broken before booting up with the new psu

Perhaps I could market it as a new environmentally friendly green PSU with zero carbon emissions and incredibly low power consumption. With a youtube video featuring some really sad baby seals and a used-to-be-famous actor.
