Yeah all these links are being flagged by my IP as dangerous. Its a recent development. Sometimes it goes away. Sometimes it persists. WUL and PD for example cannot be accessed. Really pisses me off but nothing I can do about it.

As of now MF, MEGA, DataNodes, Upyourfiles seem to be the acceptable ones
If you can get a VPN (even a free one, like from Proton), you can circumvent your IP detecting anything. Downloads will be seen by the VPN instead, so you should then be able to download them. Just make sure you don't have a firewall or other security software running that could block things.

suggesting to switch off FW or other security idk man, it's kinda dangerous to do that.
thing is that quite a lot browser-own security measures get their info updates on 'dangerous oir deceptive' through one pool: google cloud. so if anything was flagged SUS by any browser, telemetry about that ends up in the cloud, and many different browsers draw these new infos and then flag sites as dangerous, too, no matter if the problem still exists. stuff tends to linger in that cloud, for months and more.
by now, i think at least uBlock should have some update out..? so if that did trigger, probly update it, might help

I run security software maybe 5% of the time I'm using my PC. Guess who never gets a virus or lost data? And it isn't luck or something. Don't visit random sites no one's ever heard of and don't click links or download anything from somewhere you don't recognize and trust, and you'll eliminate practically all threats.

And I never suggested that downloaded files shouldn't be scanned; just that they shouldn't be blocked before downloading. Scanning after you've got the file is always a wise thing to do. I also try to avoid downloading immediately, even from F95Zone's own links. I try to give it a few days and then download. That allows time for the staff to identify a virus that might have been initially missed and thus replace any infected files with clean ones. Being wise about your choices when it comes to interacting with the Internet and files you get from it is far more useful than trying to turn everything over to a program that may or may not catch threats to your system.

Just felt the need to jump in here.

PC security / privacy 101

FREE - Don't think Windows spy's on you? Want to make you PC run faster? Disable windows features you hate?
Download

FREE - At the very least, clean junk & data files that windows collects to beam back to the mother ship & bogs down your computer

Don't use MS or Google's browsers. They are designed from the ground up to data mine & track you.
FREE -
and
FREE -
are great alternatives.

You can download compressed files into a directory and scan them before you open them (with anything other than MS Defender). Try to avoid downloading self-installing executables as much as possible as there's no way of knowing what they're going to download once they kick off on an install.

Got a virus? So what? Shit happens. Especially if you don't pay attention to the preceding paragraph. Download an AV, scan your computer, figure out which one(s) you have and SE a way to remove them. It's hardly the end of the world.

Use private email. Companies like Google offer free email so they can read it. They also offer you the "convenience" of logging in on different websites with your Google or Facebook account so they can too.

Use a VPN always, except for when YOU want them to be able to verify your identity. Like when you're checking your bank account or shopping online. Youtube doesn't need to know who I am because I felt like watching a video of dancing cats.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Free VPN's are really slow because 500 million people are all trying to use it at the same time. So pay a little extra for a fast one? It's worth it. I've tried out a few and ended up liking Proton, but feel free to experiment & try others. And it costs less than I spend on paper towels every month.
