what do you mean drop it in? Its my first time trying out the update patch but if i put it in the main folder where the exe for playing the game is it says its not installed

Check the patch you downloaded is for the version you have, current patch is for version 0.8.04 and higher and will update to 0.8.05br1

What Anarae said below make sure you have the patch for your game version. The update patch is a exe. file so you have to run it double click on it and it should update.
And you have to run the patch it's exe. file can't just be dropped into game.

I haven't played since 0.8 landed (various reasons), but, in general, yes. Just don't expect significant story developments every month; you're better off going away and coming back every few updates. That you can pick up new content every month or so is nice though. (Not a lot has happened in the last few months, so I'm not rushing into 0.8 until it's worth spending a few hours on.)

Initially I kept dying and dying and dying myself thinking you could only explore the mansion and end up being killed in different ways, but today I learned there were also lewd scenes hidden in there. So if you do keep ending in the same loops and are stuck, see the above spoiler. Hope this helps someone
