VN - Ren'Py - Completed - A Knight's Tale [v0.36 SE] [Neverlucky]

Absolutely Boring. gets two points because of the renders but thats basically it. There is no story, seduction, tension or anything that builds sexual suspense and innuendo. There is nothing. This game is basically "I love you" phrase simulator. Why do they love the MC? No reason just because. I don't mind vanilla game but even for vanilla this is absolutely boring. There is no plot or suspense. Everyone is happy with being lovers to the MC and they don;t mind at all sharing him with other women! Jealousy does not exist in this universe!

Zero choices in the game how to behave, Choice and consquence is non existent. This should be tagged as a kinetic novel.

It is absolutely boring.. And it absolutely fails in building a scenario where you can get an erection. because this game is basically hey i love you forever lets fuck!

This is my first review but when it comes to Neverlucky's games I can't stay silent. A Knight's Tale is another one of his famous chill&cute games that you pick up when you've grown tired of all the vore/bdsm/futa/NTR h-games that you play on a daily basis (don't worry we are all men and women of culture here) and you just want a nice lighthearted story that will give you a warm fuzzy feeling and keep you smiling for the rest of the day. I like to call the author's previous game the "strawberry milk-shake of h-games" and it applies here as well.

The Writing is perfect as we're all used to. The characters are likeable the story moves forward at a steady pace and I didn't get bored at any time. I agree that there are quite a few anachronistic phrases and expressions used - but the author did start by saying that the setting is not Medieval Europe but a fantasy world and as such it didn't bother me at all. The story is nice and once again quite believable. Don't expect anything non-consensual and just enjoy the cute optimistic ride.

The Graphics are once again top-tier. All the girls are pretty, MC is a handsome toned young knight - and although I'd prefer him to be a bit older - perhaps akin to Sir Thomas Grey of Covington Cross I've recently learned that Neverlucky's games are well liked among some of my female friends as well and big part of it is that the male character doesn't look a like a troglodyte. Last but not least - the animations are sparse - but nice.

There is no Voice Acting so far but it wasn't in Neverlucky's last game either so I'm not really surprised

Overall - a great fun game if you know what you're getting into and don't expect fetishes and drama that the game doesn't cater to. Can't wait for the next update and keep up the good work!

Pretty great game.

Like a dev's previous game Triangle, it's a love story between male mc and multiple women, in this case 3, and unlike triangle it's set in fantasy medieval period.

Story is simple love story and in my opinion good, some people complain that there is lack of tension and suspense, but in this case i like it, and i thank dev for that, not every game set in medieval period needs to be full of drama and action.

Writing and dialogue are great, sex scenes are nicely written, female characters are likeable and believable, i especially like Lydia, renders are also pretty good.

Only cons for me is few instances of modern language in writing and some modern underwear in renders, but in my opinion it still deserves 5 stars.

And finally, dev really deserves support, because his great work ethic and monthly releases.

So far having just finished v0.10 of this game I really liked it. Much more than I anticipated liking it actually. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect by the title of the game to be honest.

I love the characterization done in this game. The three main girls all feel like real people as does MC. Who really just seems like a dude going with the flow of things and just enjoying the wonders that life is bringing him as they come. I have seen some in the Discussion calling MC a submissive because he doesn't take charge of anything. But it's not like the females are dominating him either. More so he doesn't want to ruin anything by being pushy and just happily accepts what happens, usually being spear headed by his wife who loves taking care of her husband.

With that being said between MC and Cathy I'm starting to think the developer and/or writer are fans and have read "Our Family Story" multiple times. It's a 100 part story found on Reddit for those of you curious. I say this because MC and Cathy are totally giving me Steve and Sarah vibes all the way through this game. Including the trips out of town with Alice reminding me of Steve taking some of the girls in OFS to Vagas with him on business trips.

Anyhoosie, this is a great game. I highly recommend it to those interested. There are only a few things that don't mesh with the time setting of the story, but they are quite easy to look past and don't ruin the experiance.

If you think about playing this game, you have to keep in mind one thing.

It is completely vanilla. There is no tension, no problems to be solved, no hurdles to overcome. Nothing.

Going from the devs previous game Triangle featuring a three-way relationship between a guy and two girls, we now go to a four-way relationship between a guy and three girls.
Similar to the previous game, all the women are willing to share and the MC is willing to share them with each other.
There is no conflict, no arguing, no seduction.
It's basically just "I love you" "Oh, I love you too."

The women are pretty, but they are also pretty generic.

Now, besides the game's inability to provide any sort of arc of suspense or anything, another flaw which just really irks me is the language.
This is supposed to be a game set in medieval times, but the people all speak like in modern times (only with less cursing).
I don't expect constant archaic language, but you should at least be able to realize, from dialogue alone that these are not just your typical neigbours in the year 2020.

Everything about this game is sorta okay, but nothing is really great, except if you love milk-toast and super-sweet vanilla romance, then this might be the exact right game for you.

In my opinion a very good game with a big potential!
Graphic is good so far.
The story & the text could have been more special in my opnion.
Maybe add more characters to the game.

All in all, keep it up and it will be a good game!

The renders are good. Not photorealistic, but very nice.

While the renders are not photorealistic, they are very good and have great details.
And the story?
I love the characters, each of them .

They are natural and mostly believable.

The sex scenes and animations are good.

Update for V0.21

I have to lower my previous rating from 4 to 2 stars.

Unfortunately the story is still the same: SIMPLE. Very simple.
It's like groundhog day.
I've waited a long time to update my rating, because I'd hoped that the story would get better.

But it's the same the last ten updates:
Meet the girls, do something with the girls, repeat, episode ends.
There is no storyline, the character building is done: You don't act like a king, you listen to your queen, there is nothing happening to make the story interesting.

There are no decisions, this is only a (boring) storytelling.

It's a shame, I really like all girls in this VN (especially Alice, she's the reason I keep playing this).

The strong suite of this game is that it offers you 3 beautiful, slutty girls who like you, want to make you happy but aren't bitchy or annoying like you can always find in such games. There are also some animations for the sex scenes which get the job done but certainly won't be praised as being the best.
The evolution of the relationships is pretty natural (considering the type of game ofc). You're a knight but in time you start to feel like a sultan with a harem, something I for one really like
People criticize this game for not being dramatic or not having impactful choices. Well these observations are correct, but it was obviously intended to be played solely for relaxation and as an easy means of escapism. Nothing wrong with that, there's plenty of drama in real life. Also plenty of other good games to offer you tragic scenarios when that's what you want.
Another plus is that the MC doesn't have the unfortunately typical monster cock so you're spared of hearing from every girl "it's by far the biggest I've seen, how will it fit?".
If I had a small complaint is that the face of the MC is shown more often than I'd like, there are games who don't show the face at all and that's the ideal for me.
The dev also has a good work ethic and delivers updates once per month.
I definitely recommend giving it a try. Just don't go expecting this to be Acting Lessons and you'll be fine. It's certainly a good enough game to help you release some tension and pass some time.

This is a good game but you need to except what it is, its a happy go lucky game, a slow burner, if you dont like that dont play and then go leave bad reviews because you couldnt pull out your dick and fap to it and thats where the problem is. I would guess just because of that half the members on this site do not like this game and give it bad reviews because they skip forward in most the games they play just for fap material and here you skip forward through most the game.

Take that out of the equation and this game is well done, renders are good, girls look good, and they all respect each other, if you dont like nice dont play

I was lured in by the medieval theme and the animated tag, and what I found was a sleepy game not worth most people's time. The sex is boring. The animations are generic. The girls aren't particularly memorable, and more importantly, neither is the storyline. I blitzed through the second half of the game on skip-speed just to see if something big happened - it never did. If you're a fan of C-rate soap opera storylines with some C-rate softcore porn, then go for it.

The art looks good, The story seem to be unique. But then it all just go on repeat, BORING as hell!! Ive been following it from start, but it's just like playing 0,1 over and over again, nothing new, you think "Oh this might be the time" But NO!!! It's the same thing once more... Boring!

Edit: Review of 0.14 The game only deserve one star for the renders, everything else is just crap, the story just gets more and more boring, of every day being the same in the game and it has animated tag even tho almost nothing is animated... Really just a terrible boring game.

The game seemed to start off really well, but has fallen flat the last few episodes. The choices seem to have no real impact for the direction of the game or the interaction with the other characters. Barely anything is happening outside of the castle that the MC has to deal with.

The few animations are ok, but the overall feel of them is flat as is the background.

I know that the dialogue is at the discretion of the dev, but having the word "awesome" thrown in there multiple times doesn't go with the medieval storyline.

Maybe in another 6 months to a year the graphics and the direction of the game will improve.

If you have played and enjoyed the Dev's previous work, you will likely enjoy this as much, if not more.

Like the previous work, this is not a story that offers a great deal of meaningful choice in how it plays out. That said, it, like the previous work, excels in spite of that.

Among the multitude of games that have dark themes, including blackmail, violence, sexual assault, it is nice to have some options of games that are more lighthearted and caring/loving. This dev's work is fantastic at that.

I was excited when a medieval theme game was released. And in episode 1 there was some promise of some drama, with the evil prince suppressing his subjects or whatever. But since then it feels like the game is on repeat, every episode is the same, and the story doesn't move forward. There is no choices for the player at all and at most times it feels like you are a passive observer following other characters more than the MC. And when it comes to the relationships should be, it wouldn't hurt to add some realism, instead of snuggle snuggle between all from day1. The only positive thing I can say about this game is that the renders looks good. I have no interest continue playing a story that seems to be going nowhere.

Decent enough to play, could be better. Grapichs are lacking, story is alright. Nice to have another medival game though, find these quite lacking overall. The backgrounds are rather stock, which is a bit sad though.

So the reviews on this game seem to be slanted when I played the game I found far from what I consider a four star game.

For me this game is missing what you see as depth from other 4-5 star games there is zero replayability so far other then different flavor text. The MC seems bland and uninteresting. The wife seems ok with the MC cheating which is fine if that is her kink but she married supposedly for years yet it is just coming up?

My final review for this game. Dropped another star. I tried my best to enjoy this and gave it 3 chances:

I genuinely found no enjoyment in the game which is unfortunate considering it seems to be relatively popular and it's such a fantastic setting to make for an interesting plot. I wish I could enjoy it but it's just such a sleeper game.

Nothing happens ever, the main conflicts of a medieval lord are who gets a massage tonight. The girls are just so plain and boring yet this game just never ends. The dialogue is uninspired and cringy. You can have the skip button down from day 1 of the game all the way to the end and you will understand what's going on just as well as someone who played and read from the beginning. That is beyond shameful. Writing is supposed to immerse you, to make you want to be part of the story, to evoke emotion in the reader. This game has so much writing and none of it does any of that. It's called a visual novel. Novels are meant to have writing in them. Whatever this amalgamation of words smeared onto these renders is not writing. It's at this point just shoving sugar down the reader's mouth. I played hours of this just like "please...please do something." Well, almost a year later, nothing has come. Nothing has happened.

Well, surely if the writing is boring and illogical, there must be some great fap content? Hell no, these are such uninspired and uninteresting scenes around. The dialogue in them is so stale, the renders aren't really special at all, and I can't say I was very impressed with the setup/posing of the scenes either. It feels very basic and amateurish. I somehow found myself wanting to skip past these scenes even more than the walls of the pre-teen romance novel text.

Trust me, I love fluff games, I love reading so much but when the content has no purpose but to just exist, I cannot stand it.

If you just want a feel good fairy tale this might be for you? But even then there are so many games that just do that far, far better in my books. I would not recommend this to anyone. Sorry to be harsh but I'm still baffled as to how the game has so much content but such a small amount of it is actually meaningful.

F95zone classifies a 1 star game as "terrible," well, let me tell you, this is terrible. If people feel the need to rate this game 5 stars (which means perfect, no flaws) then I think a 1 star is more than fair. In my eyes, there is nothing the game does well and not many games make me regret my time invested. This is one of those games.

After 4 updates I have changed my review:

So this game reminds me of like cotton candy. It's overly sweet and you really can't have too much of it. This game feels that way to me. There is no conflict, no plot; it's just a lot of filler and boring conversations with 3 girls that pretty much are the exact same person. The interactions between the characters begin to feel cringy from how sweet and wholesome everyone is. Choices exist for no reason and for being a supposed bad ass knight/swordsman, the MC seems to be very passive and just goes with the flow. All of these things combined together just make a very bland and flavorless game with very little story or plot to make the game worth playing.

In my opinion, I really am not a fan of the direction this game is going but sometimes people want a story to feel happy and this certainly is one of those.

When I originally wrote my first review for the game, the game showed a lot of potential and almost implied we would see the MC having to deal with lordly problems and potentially even sword-fighting. After all these updates it is almost clear that the game is solely focused on the relationship between MC and the 3 girls and the awesome medieval setting won't actually be used much beyond living in a castle.

Interesting start to the game. I somewhat enjoyed triangle but it was a very safe game. Not much happens so if this game ends up being similar in that regard I feel it could get repetitive and a boring. The setting in this game is far more interesting so hopefully it doesn't end up feeling monotonous.

Nice, sexy, good setup. Maybe a bit overly wholesome so far (although I could just be jaded given the general slant of erotic VN's now). I am glad to see it looks like they are setting up for some action/intrigue that is definitely required for this setting and we didn't see any of really in Triangle. I notice the models for the wife and Alice are slight alterations of the original models from Triangle, not disappointing, but just felt I'd mention it. I really like the model for Lydia I do hope they give her a little fuzz though. Redheads are always better that way imho. As a carry over supporter from Triangle, I'll definitely be sticking around. Keep up the good work Devs.

Update for v0.16:
The Game is Starting to get boring,most scenes are with his wife and the 2 Girls, sometimes scenes go to the outside of the castle and that is about it, no fucking other women or the women fucking somebody else,and also no fighting dragons or the barmaid.

Very promising start. Obviously only the first chapter so far, but the characters are all endearing, there is good potential for the overlying plotline with the new king, and possible conflict with the wife over both potential relationships. Too early to tell where the story is going, and which relationships are able to be developed, or whether there will be multiple scenarios available (Polyamory, cheating, monogamy, etc). I'm definitely interested to see where the storyline will go from here, and given the success of Neverluckys previous project, I'm expecting great things from this new title.
