You got the same error I did. Dev, law of average says if it's a few reporting it, there is a lot more that have it, but didn't post. Hopefully this gets addressed soon.

Hot scenes between Protagonist and Nicole (as always). 
Wonder what her taking a dive into the ocean by the end of chapter mean. Is that her way of cleansing the doubt and guilty of cheating?
Plus we find out John is even more of a trash than i thought. Forced sex under threat of blackmail against a couple of "old friends" and later he didn't even hold his end of the bargain, instead kept trying stealing their property until he succeed.
Bottom line: John is a NTR/rapist and it is better not to trust anything he says or promise. Plus beware the day he decides to wreck Nicole and Protagonist relationship. I hope we are able to start making plans against him soon.
Also Protagonist's father was being kind of ominous in the phone. Wonder what he wanted to say...
That being said i found unnecessary the drama with the perverted hotel workers and how you can't choose not to start it, since both MC and Nicole always end in the same room. Choices were pretty much reduced in this chapter.

Could either be financial issues and / or something to do with aunt - then MC needs to come up with a way that they stay away from doing business with John (not everyone wants to see John with MC's mom)

Dev already mentioned no incest so first one is a negative.
But i wouldn't be surprised if John is somehow blackmailing protagonist's parents like he did with his "friends".
I have been trying for a while now, but how the hell do you get past the squeaky floor in the prologue?
Try using the bugfix on the first post. That solved most of the issues for me.game crashes after talking to chubby guy

I know this is Orb's first game to go this long, I started playing this about three months after the initial release but haven't played it since last August, Chloe just isn't attractive to me so there was no real struggle when it comes to choosing also not helped with how easily unlikable she can be. There's no point in going back and redoing Chloe's model.

Guess I'm in the minority, but I see no reason to let go of Chloe even if you prefer Nicole. Keep her around and, when Nicole starts to age out in a few years, you have a nice little replacement. And after that, you should have gotten one or both pregnant so you can just keep the process going.

Played the 0.8 version, downloaded and installed the bugfix (the three 'Coding' files), then played the 'fixed' 0.8 version, and received the same error in all cases. Guess we really need to talk Nicole into the ocean:
