Parody doesn't mean you can exploit it for money. Parody and plagiarism aren't the same thing either. Care to take a guess why nobody could use Mickey Mouse in "parodies" or even in references until recently? Or why all pokémon fan games are shut down?

The issue here isn't really to know what's wrong or what's right (we are on a PIRATE site...), it's how some people think they have some kind of moral high ground, and talk about thief. Once again, on a PIRATE site... That's kind of the whole identity of the site.
I don't know why everyone's hating on you and Gunsmoke. Honestly, I'm just glad we're getting more DC guys and gals to play with. SU has some fun ideas that never really get realized in the main game so other people taking what they've done and spinning it off just sounds like the natural course of action if their workflow is too slow for some people. As for the legality of it all it's laughable to argue either way. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I come here to play silly or serious porn games, and if anyone makes something worth donating towards I do. If not, it's no skin off anyone's back. The theft of art assets sucks sure, but at this point in time, unless you've got a Disney-sized legal team riding your dick the legal landscape for the argument is moot. Hell, every game on here with the real porn tag does the exact same shit but nobody goes bonkers for 3 pages of comments talking about how wrong it is to steal the gifs/webm files from people who actually did the fucking, so why should artists get special treatment.
Also, the game was a fun little distraction so good work dude.

Starfire is a neglected waifu, if there was any justice in this world she would star in every game on this site.
Was that ever in doubt? Every SU update is obviously a couple weeks of work at most stretched across 8-12 due to a mix of incompetence, laziness, and grift.

This was an enjoyable fan-made story event game! Would love to see more in the future; this felt faithful to the source material while also in some areas making Lex feel more in control than even in SU, honestly a really nice job for using borrowed assets.

Agreed. Would love to see Raven or Blackfire, especially if Slade is involved. For example, there could be a scenario similar to ZONE's "Sladed" animation. Birthday, first time, powerless, etc.
I agree that using the assets from SU for your own game is 100% wrong, however, Dev did post it on this site himself for free, thus giving him money on patreon is completely optional. Also it is not likely he is affecting Gunsmoke Games' in any significant way, if someone were to play this game first, they might get interested in playing the original actually.
I am willing to bet that Dev will earn a very small amount of money from this, and when compared to the time spent making the game it would be completely not worth it. He is clearly doing this as a hobby while earning pocket change and not as a way to make a living.
His patreon on the other hand, is just waiting to get taken down, since he IS profiting from someone else's art, even if he is making somewhat original stories from it. That said I know that the stories also end up on that SU edited sprite thread eventually.
Bottom line, at least Dev is putting some of his own effort into the things he posts, which are mostly available for free on this site, hence any profit would be miniscule. But it is STILL WRONG to use/profit off other people's art without their permission, the proper thing to do is for Dev to gets perms/reach a deal with SR7 to use the assets, which doesn't seem impossible but highly unlikely, idk the views of SR7.
If Dev reads this: I recommend putting links to Something Unlmited and/or their Patreon if possible.
