VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - A.O.A. Academy [Ch.5 Gold] [TLGGAMES]

This game has a lot of potential. A lot stories to be discovered and revealed.
The UI feels good and something even more interesting is its renders. They are very good and something I haven't seen a lot.
Few suggestions:
1. Don't make it, like that game(u know which game I'm taking about, with considering the Easter eggs)
2. Add a few more UI features (like relationship stats indicator etc)
3. And a few in game animation and motion video ( if you can)
Overall, at this stage it's a very good. Just don't loose direction in the story narration (a lot of stories could mess up)

This is really a game I like and I really looking forward for what´s will come up.

The best pros is the limited dialogue. Not a click-fest, I like!
The only concern I have is the limited feedback on what the choices will make. Apperently I didn't get the full score from Jenny, I have no idea what I should have done to get a better score.

Updated for version 2.1:
A lot has changed, parts of the first version have been rewritten as to make a certain part of the story not as off-putting to some as it has been.
The game has become more its own thing and so far updates have been alright as far as content and time go.
The visuals have always been great and all in all at this point, I will change my rating from 3 to 4 stars.
It's not quite there at five stars, but it definitely is a good, more than average game.



This game has fantastic visuals, several interesting and likeable characters and everything works as it should UI and game mechanics wise.
The writing, while it has quite a few errors is good enough to enjoy for the most part.

Why only three stars then? That seems unnecessary harsh.
Several reasons.

1. I rate the game as it is, not the potential it has or the game it can one day be, and as of now anything more than three stars would feel unwarranted. The game not only needs to look good, it also needs the content to deserve 4 or more stars, to get them.

2. Right now the game seems almost like a clone in the genre of college porn VN, this makes it seem quite uncreative in regards to setting and even characterization of the MC. That might change, when and if the story hopefully diverges down a different road, but again, I review the game as of now, not a possible four updates in version.

3. There are decisions for a specific situation, which are then ignored while interacting with the characters, in addition the MC is pressured into a position, that I find disgusting and then the game forces me to act as if the person responsible for that is my friend and a really nice woman. No, sorry doesn't fly with me. Incredibly jarring and ruining my fun playing.

This review is about version 0.1.1 the dev already decided to change things and going from how well the game has been done so far, I fully expect it to continue to improve, so if that happens, my review will be changed accordingly.
A.O.A. Academy looks very promising and could turn out to be a great game.

This game is rather impressive
Story wise,
You are a country boy with a sick father who then begs academy to let you in
The prologue gives basic desc of the plot and how the characters are, not being confusing and pretty direct while having a depth to it, Renders are amazing and with music and sound set my the author it just creates a atmosphere and gives value to whats going on a plus point for me, this game is not all sex no story, there is plenty of starter plots that feel interesting and something i really really look forward to, in games like these the renders and story make the game,
And man the introduction video was superb, the song and animations were spot on
Genre Wise: Harem is a tad hard of a genre to get a good ending set to that makes sense on its own level, there are some games that do good harem ending and some that shit on itself killing its own self, i personally do like harem ending and if author decides to make on ill be eyeing with interest

at end note this is a game that already sold me on prologue and something ill like to play

I really enjoyed the Beginning of this game and for a game that is just being made this definitely exceeded my expectations
Pros about this game:
-Great Story
-Filled with emotion at the beginning of the game (which is a great way to hook people)
-You're not thrown into a bunch of senseless sex scenes
-Each Characters have interesting personalities
-Good renders
-High quality for a game that is just being made
-Visually pleasing
-The emotions that are displayed in the game actually makes sense
-There isn't any excessive grinding involved in the game in order to get to a specific scene
-It has a decent Cellphone system(again very good for a game that's just being made)
-Good word choices (meaning the words don't make me want to hold the ctrl button)


The problems I had with game (and these are very minor details and are probably already being fixed)
-Some Scenes were too bright and I had a hard time reading the text
-Grammar issues
-The choice hints that are given aren't very detailed like "jenny really liked that" ( I know that could be asking for to much but that's just my personal preference)




But other than that I think this game is amazing for something that is only on its first altercation I can see this game flourishing with every update even to be as popular as well known titles

Ch.1 Gold
I have to say that this chapter was nothing short of amazing. I played both the beta and the actual version. I was thinking to myself how could it possibly be any better (sure there was bugs in the beta but I have certainly seen worse). With all that being said this has definitely became one of my favorite games if not top 5 in my opinion even though it is still in its early stage of development. I'm looking forward to the next updates and I shall keep on reviewing it. Keep up the good work TLG!!!!

The brightness is and the grammar is the only real negatives that stood out to me.

-Pretty solid story

The main character is very enjoyable, the music was great and this game features a very lovely cast. I'm loving what I'm seeing so far.

This game is magnificent!

Story:
The story isn't really unique but nonetheless I enjoy it as it is still interesting. The girls all have personality and they are fun to talk to.

Gameplay:
I really like how you don't have to grind and do stuff to move ahead in the story. More games like this should exist where you only need a good story to be great.

Renders:
The renders look amazing!! The girls are original, beautiful and they all have their own thoughts. Although I'd like for the animations to be smoother in terms of FPS because in the first release it's a bit choppy.

Sound:
The music is absolutely good. First time I didn't turn it off in a game like this because it wasn't just looping a 2 minute song. The sound effects are also on point and not abundant but just the right amount.


Summary:
There's not much to do in this first release besides the prologue and getting to know the girls a little bit, but I think this game is a must-play and I'm waiting (im)patiently for the next releases! Keep up the awesome quality!

This is... AMAZING.

TLGGames knows what they're doing and they should be very proud of this even with it being a v0.1 release. Holy Shite, this is how you develop a game -- with a great story and lots of love. No sandbox bullshit, no stupid grinding, just a plot, excellent writing along with a plot that breathes much needed fresh air into the genre.

Review as of V.01

Excellent start of a project! As you can see from the screenshot, the visuals are properly rendered and from the looks of it, had ALOT of post production involved instead of the ussual render and done. You can tell alot of effort were made here, visually and storytelling.
Haven't found any bugs so far, and a few spelling errors and misuse of names in the dialogue. but very few to ruin your time in playing the game.
Content There is alot here to start you of in this game. And enough to make you want more!
Sounds included in the game along with great Voiced music that matches the atmosphere of the scene.
Few animations here and there and 1 Sexy animation.

TLDR: The game version right now is a great start DEF A MUST PLAY. I have a feeling this is gonna be as good as that certain college game thats been popular for a while now!

A.O.A. Academy already feels like one of the best VN on the forum.
You did an amazing job on the first update and only just getting started.
Nice interesting stroy. The rendering is high quality, the music is soothing, the animations are very well done and the character models are beautiful and fantastic. Everything so far is fine and makes for awesome gameplay. Look forward to more updates in the future.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it and even pay a visit to the Patreon.

Overall
This is quite a good start to what I hope will be an excellent VN. The characters are interesting, and well developed so far. The story has a great flow, and the writing doesn't feel rushed. The MC, and Josh need to see a doc about their horrible neck eczema though. The devs have really knocked this intro out of the park. I wish you could have done more in the deans office though. Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to where this one goes. Thanks for sharing
