the character Marvin, was described that way from the beginning, but it could have been improved in the first panels, and as the story progresses it becomes incomprehensible for Marvin's route, that of corrupting Anna through alcohol is very crude and silly, and it seems that he left it that way, it should have been more credible or a solid reason for Anna to fall into the hands of Marvin, besides that of Marvin's background, it does not seem to me the most appropriate, if he wanted to include a route as unpredictable as Marvin's, he would have worked better, for example; in the first appearances of marvin in the story, his presentation with anna, he looked more harmless, impossible to kill a cockroach, he would have taken advantage of his vulnerability to approach anna, and in this way while he is gaining confidence, he gives anna to think, to trust marvin, either by the experience he has in relationships, marriage, even marvin could deceive with tactics of how to please the husband or how to establish the marriage, or also how to have safe childbirth, and many more.
