Not only that but maybe you should check what and how much content has been added since rather than simply look at the version number as if that was any indication to how much progress has been done.
You could also look at his progress updates and you'd have seen not only the roadmap but also how his patreons shape the way the game progresses as well as where is focus is.
The game is far too large and with too much content to simply "end" it and move on as you put it and regardless of how much we can or not agree with the followers choices along the way, this is hardly a dev that's been milking their players.

Good evening,
I would have loved to write this report after the release of 0.5.9.5, but now that it's getting late and I see the still open to do's I have decided to take a short break from work and write it quickly.
Ok, first looking back on the past week let's talk about what I worked on:
The main focus was again on the story, but I also decided to work on an defeat animation.
My original idea was to use the already existing defeat animation in case you lose to the goblins with Bianca in group. However that was still using the old goblin models and for the deep mine I wanted to have one that uses the new models. This is why I made this alternative version now.
I then worked on the interactions in the deep mine including new enemy groups similar to the camps on the first level of the mine but with some smaller additions to them and also with a certain respawn mechanic for them.
All together working on the story and the goblin groups has taken most of the time this week (setting patrol routes and positions).
And there is also another little something that I've worked on and don't want to spoil yet, but it has also taken some time.
All together I have gotten very close to a release, however a few things are still missing right now and also the bug-testing hasn't even started yet.
I really want to release this tonight, but at the same time I won't be doing crunch sessions to 3AM anymore, this usually leads to a lot of bugs and totally ruins the next day for me.
This is why I'm writing this report now, I don't think I can complete the update tonight. I will continue a few more hours, but when I feel like I can't focus anymore I'll make a break.
I'll release the update as soon as I can next week when the dialogs are polished and most of the bugs removed. I hope that will be on monday evening.
So for now I'll continue and wish you all a nice weekend!

What's even more surprising is that the games are almost identical in their length and content and yet Chyos actually reliably pumps out updates and logs.

It's a "retard magnet" quest: retards seem to think that they can play this game without reading the dialogues, therefore they fail to notice that Melissa herself tells MC where to find the treasure chests.I started the Melissa quest and got the first treasure map which shows a stump but after going to east darkwood nothing happens. I then checked here and it seems this is a very much hated quest. Looking at the walkthrough it seems the quest isn't even finished so is this RNG shit even worth the effort.
I love how many people despise RNG related gameplay mechanics but typical of the devs they can't resist putting it in a game and fucking up the flow.

And it's a very useful and valuable treasure hunt, since you can craft the most powerful weapons (ebonite weapons) and armor (abyssalweave armor) using the items you find in the chests.
Secondly, you have 12 "unfinished" quests on your questlog after you finished every game content in 0.5.9.1, therefore your ranting makes no sense at all.
