Just read off of his Patreon description that a newer version was supposed to be released a few days ago.
Not really the sort to pester the dude about updates (regardless of how they eventually turn out), but I'm not sure if we ever got an explanation from either Gee or the other devs.

^Once a public version is available and if it gets better reviews than the last couple updates, I'll try to play this again. I still think this game has a lot of potential. But the last few updates haven't been good.

In the time it takes to trickle down the Patron list. Does it get hot fix's to become 0.28a or 0.28b?

If they find any bugs. Although with the limited amount of people on those tiers, there's a chance some bugs get through.
Weird thing is that last time the 'a' version was leaked first then the 'c' version after quite a while.
